Istanbul's Best Photography Locations

In this video I bring you my favourite locations for a shoot in the incredible city of Istanbul.

I have been visiting Istanbul since the mid 1990s and depsite massive changes, it remains one of the greatest cities in the world in which to shoot.

Tha majority of the vidoe and stills in this video were captured on a Fuji X-T2 with a combination of 14mm, 18-55m and 55-200mm lenses.

I was supposed to go to Istanbul in January 2021, postponed to 2022, and now postponed to 2023. I've been there previously in 2004, 2011, and 2017. (I was in Istanbul for the record snowfall in January 2017. That made for quite a different view of the city!) Great suggestions in your video. Thanks! Some spots I like: Rumeli Hisan Fortress from the water and the interiors of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Ultra wide angle fun and interesting options with a fisheye.

Really enjoyed your video and agree with all your selections. We loved photographing in Istanbul and are returning next month. One thing we desperately want to capture is a performance by the Whirling Dervishes - would you know where we could book such an experience?
