The state has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that trump knew that expensing payments to Cohen as legal expenses was illegal, that he directed it himself, And that he knew beyond a reasonable doubt that Cohen paying Daniels was illegal . They then have to make an argument that a state crime can be compounded on a federal crime and they have to prove why the statute of limitations has not been passed. It's going to be a very difficult case to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. Not impossible, but every leg of the chair is wobbly and only one needs to fail to make then case fail. Also only one juror can make it a hung jury.
