Nice comparison. But a better test to me would be to run both of the units through the SAME sound system.

I don't mean to bash the GENOS, and I know that Yamaha actually make acoustic pianos, but it just seems to me that the Pa5x has more definition and realism to it. That's just me though. As well as the other sounds too, considering they are based off of their own past keyboards, like the KRONOS, Nautilus and I think the SV-1 as well.

I love the sounds and the richness of the Korg PA5X as the Yamaha is cut a little short for quality. I also think that the Speakers have a huge difference if you really listen. I bought from Technologic a set of Speakers with adjustable base and treble and volume for $100.00 same as the speakers for Yamaha. Why pay more right. LOL I also think it boils down to preference in what you like to hear. More Mello tones are easier on the ears.

First off thank you for the video comparison. I honestly feel that both of these are magnificent instruments. Being honest, I believe sound preference is so subjective, and even that with many people has been shown to be very fallible in blind sound tests. Perhaps looking at the features of each keyboard, and seeing what better suites the needs of each individual as a player would help define a better choice. In all honestly from a sound perspective, if I couldn't make decent music with either of these, the problem is me as a player. One thing that is a huge deal to me is the difference in price and honestly for me this would likely be the deciding factor. $1000 less for the the Pa5x is huge and I am honestly surprised Yamaha hasn't lowered its price to counter. This type of price difference really makes the decision for me.

I wish every single keyboard demo worked just like this on so many of them they talk and talk and talk and if you’re totally blind as I am, this is fantastic because I know which keyboard you are playing this is fantastic. I really wish people would do more demos with percussion and vocals choir and orchestral sounds. Thank you so so much that’s why I said just subscribe to this channel. Thank you very much.

The Korg PA5x this time round for me, nice playing

The Korg sound better but, it's a 2022 machine...vs 2017 machine, so, imagine in 2017, the Genos was in advance but the principal thing too, it's rythme section and between this gap of time (2017vs2022), what i listen on you tube about the Pa5x, didn't surprise me in positive way.
Between that, thank you for your time and work!!!

The sound test should be with audio out, not from the camera microphone.
Camera recording by the microphone is unreliable.

Korg sounds more rich. It seems Korg samples have more atmosphere and depth in them. May be more mics used... I am not sure. But from what I hear, I would go with Korg.

I have played both, and the PA5X has a much better cushioned-keybed action 🎹 to play, whereas the GENOS 🎹 is like playing keys hitting a hardwood plank! Also the Styles on the PA Korg keyboards are better than the Yamaha PSR Styles. The new model PA5X has the musical power of the sound tracks of the blockbuster movies film 🎥 scores when played through my PreSonus R65 stereo monitors.
Enjoy your YT demo videos Graham 👍

In my humble opinion, finally the Korg Pa5x sounds are comparable to Yamaha Genos. Both sounds comparisons are apple-to-apple. Both are provided great sounds and they are unique on their own. We need both.

You should have compared the line signals because both competitors have completely different speaker systems.

Hallo Herr Rimmer

Yamaha sounds like ROCK EQ - more spread/wider, studio sounding, deeper but slightly thinner
Korg sounds like POP EQ - more front facing/concentrated, live sounding, shallower but slightly richer

Genos all day long, I just picked one up so I'm a bit biased. I didnt get the Yamaha speakers though, I got some high end full range units with an amp so your mileage may vary. Used to have a Korg M1 but Tyros to Genos, they're absolutley killer. Winner all day long.

Still a great sounds from Genos I mean half Korg and half Yamaha but I don't like the price for Yamaha which is still $6k till yet so PA5X for me good sounds and new technology plus $1k less.

I think all the voices and sounds are nearly the same quality. It depends on what you prefer. If you prefer pure workstation with lots of editing and more effects, I think PA 5x wins for this, especially with the first 88-key arranger that supports aftertouch and ribbon controller. If you just enjoy the sound-only, just pick Genos (or CVP 809 if you want the 88-key version).

Feel like the Genos has cut the low a bit more with a HP filter than the Korg. I think that is what gave the Korg more definition and beefy tone,
