Dr. Maxfield you dont know how encouraging this is. im a man in my late twenties who is slowly figuring thints out: im in school to be a dental assistant and i love it. i was not good at school because of mental illness and ignorance about it. in your videos you are very well spoken and very handsome-people only see that including me. but you posting this gave me life because at any place at any time we all have the power to get up and change our direction. life is not linear. you inspired me to continue living and to continue to fight haed for what i dream of. dont let sociak media full you all. you only see a glimpse and not the full story. continue to work hard and yoir time will come. even after you get there still have the mindset its not over yet. thank you dr. maxfield. i want to know more about you and this situation. what were your thoughts and motivations at the time. please give us more

Success isn’t a straight line. I quit school and had a baby at 16. I now have a doctorate in nursing, an MBA, and am a professor at a university. Some of us take the scenic route to the destination. 😊

Some people find themselves and figure out their path long after the horrors of high school. Bravo!

I love this!! I had to take a year off in my final yr of school as I was hospitalised for Anorexia. I wanted to do law at uni & the school thought it would be better for my grades to start fresh the following year. While waiting for that year to pass I got a job as an office junior in a law firm. The owner of the firm would take me to court with him. I made a lot of really good contacts & 2 years into the job a few of the top barristers & the solicitors at my firm all wrote testimonials & I got into the top university in Sydney. Studying law! There is more than one way to do things sometimes you need to go outside the box!
Congratulations 🥂 ❤❤

Thank you for sharing this. So timely as I have been worrying about my son’s decisions & choices lately. Sometimes our goals & dreams for them do not align with their dreams & goals. As parents, we have to be supportive of our children no matter we agree or not of their decisions and the pathways they choose.

I just had the pleasure watching my son receive his diploma. I was very proud seeing him walk across that stage. He maid the deans list in 2022. The fist time for the award being giving. He also was captain of the Robotics team 2022-2023 until graduating. Hes earned a full ride. Rochester University is his college of choice. Hes gonna be a Doctor. Hes always said this even a child. Keep going son! Your own your way Doc.james

I'm 30 now. I almost didn't graduate highschool and I was at an alternative school. I've been working in healthcare an a pharm tech for about 10 years and I'm doing my pre-reqs for pharmacy school now(might decide to go pa or md route if I feel like I am competitive enough.) Anyone can do anything and it's never too late. The best time to start something is always when you're able and ready.

I would be terrified if I learned my doctor/surgeon dropped out of high school.
I may not remain a patient but would be proud he / she went back to school and became a successful doctor. I realize that isn’t nice but I would always be concerned about their dedication .
