The beautiful body of sound is brought through this fabulous conductor who has this string orchestra in the palm of his hand.

One of the best interpretations of the Apollon heard in recent years...👏

Gorgeous and so silky smooth, a performance with grace and subtle power. The more I study Stravinsky, the more amazed I am by his talent. Thank you much for posting.

At last! At last I've fallen in love with this piece! Thank you Mr Harding and Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France: I heard the phrasing and the general sense of the music so much more here than when I listened to it - quite a few times - years ago. ❤

I only recently discovered Harding with his 2019 Europa Konzert. His style is remarkably unique. His Wagner so completely without pathos and yet enormously powerful. His Debussy crystal clear yet as if from another world. And this performance is wonderful, too. Even if neoclassicism is not my favorite style.

Sloppy performance - the punctuation is played carelessly. If anything, all Stravinsky scores demand very clear rhythmic articulation. Here, the approach is romantic, instead of classical as clearly intended. For the rest the playing is beautiful - just not the right approach. This is the responsibility of the conductor, not of the players who do a really good job.
