Not only does Cielito Lindo have the world's best taquitos they do something unheard of. They have published the recipes for the taquitos and sauce online. While I have not tried to make the taquitos I have made the sauce. It was identical to what Cielito Lindo serves. I've used it to top tacos but it's just as good on chips.

I've never heard of a restaurant revealing the recipes for their flagship dishes. It hasn't seemed to hurt their business one bit. Even though I can duplicate what they are famous for I will still visit Cielito Lindo every time I am in the area.

I used to work there a few years ago while in college.
The sauce is actually made by the owner and manager daily. The key ingredient is jalapeño juice mixed with 2 parts avocado and 1 part garlic with a dash of Poblano pepper powder.
