I have a sneaking suspicion that HPI outsourced the majority of this truck too Hobbyplus, Flysky and Furitek which is totally fine because this truck is awesome and those companies make awesome products.

Hi pal. Irun a foam course also. Once you have run through the paint layer it changes. Occasionally i re paint those parts of the track. 😄

Glad to see HPI come out with something new. Used to be a big fan of them back in the day…

7:13 Double commenting to say something about scale: According to my measurements(taken from a 2019 Defender) the TRX4m is actually small by about 2-5% so the HPI might actually be closer to actual 1/18 scale. You could use the headlights as an easy guesstimate; the 85 Hilux had 200mm wide headlights so at 1/18 scale that is 11.11mm.

im glad to see HPI Racing coming back as I am a huge fan of the brand when I was heavy into RC Drifting. I wanted their 1/10 FJ Cruiser Venture but it was around the time HPI was tanking. This mini crawler looks very promising and my son loves how fast it goes and I love how it crawls too. So it looks like we found the perfect mini crawler to get next.

This another great review. You covered all the pluses and minuses. Of course Axle's review summed it up very well.

its a 6 channel transmitter and for the brushless version the dip switches do not work as all the drag brake settings are in the esc and use the programming card. The only dipswitches that do anything on the brushless version are the last 2 for switching channel 4 and 5 directions.

I have the venture 1/10 since they came out, still one of my preferred chassis to date, now theyalso killed it with with the 1/18, definitely getting one

I like that Axle’s solution is basically always MORE POWER!!!

100, 000 out of 10 pretty good axle rating! I think you need to start some merch with “axle rating” at a tag line, literal and figurative meanings

this think looks to be super well put together! love the layout of the electronics, clipless body, added details, some of the parts look familiar. love the furitek and 2spd.

So many cool new RCs recently! This one may jump to the top of the list. Hardest decision will be red or black (obv gotta go with brushless).

Looks awesome, I really like the way the wheels tuck up into the arches when it’s flexing, definitely cool to leave this one stock👌
