Varna, Bulgaria 1978 (silent super 8mm film)

Description:
We are in Varna, the largest city and summer resort on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The film opens with two road signs informing us that the city of Ruse is on the left while Veliko Tarnovo is on the right. We see Varna from the moving car and then the filmmaker shows us a woman who takes pictures of the landscape from her balcony with her camera. We see part of the Black Sea with the lens focusing on a ship as well as the woman admiring the view.

The view changes from a village with the locals doing some agricultural work and we get back to views from the road and the hotel. The filmmaker shows us one of the beaches of Varna as he has stopped with his car and once again the woman who photographs the area with her camera. The woman visits the beach and the lens shows us views of the beach and as well as a dead dolphin.

The film closes with shots from the route, The Dormition of the Mother of God Cathedral and a man trying to start his car with a crank.
