2:01 I don’t normally comment on videos but your solution deserves praise! I am a tinkerer with settings, running 5900x amd 3080ti… deciding between ray trace on or off. I settled on off today then thought I’d try AO only rt settings. Restarted game and crashed on shader compiling when opening, a crash as PC shut down. I actually had to turn power supply off and on. This happened 5 times. I’m trying everything, changing pc vsync power performance hdr settings, I did a 1 hr windows memory test no issues. Problems started when I had changed the ray tracing settings…but no way to get back into game as pc hard crashes. Your solution, if changing ini to have ray tracing False, I would say is Perfecto :-) saved from more anxiety. Thank you. My conclusion is this is simply a terrible pc port of a console game, but like many things it’s just too fun to continue despite the pain. Thanks again for your tips!

i turned on RT shadows and restarted. thats what definitely what made it not work again. changing the game settings ini file worked for me. thank you

Method 2 works for me. After I copy and delete save game folder, game can run but crash when you received letter form Prof. Weasley. Then I delete all mods installed. Now it just works! Then I copy my previous save game data, and I can continue my current game progress! Thanks!

My whole Hogwarts Legacy Folder, including all savegames within AppData is just gone.

Thx, but not working still... I've played but - out of nowhere - the game kept crashing... And now, do not even pass the "EULA" screen and *baam* crashes/exits.

My game is crashing almost every time when I interact with a specific object, the parchments. In the CrashReportClient file it says:

I've tried everything and nothing works. I have an RTX 3060 Ti and 32GB of RAM. If anyone else has this problem and managed to solve it, let me know.

I use NVIDIA and UpscaleMode config attribute was AMD_FSR2_Quality, just changed to NVIDIA_NIS and worked!!

I don't have ray tracing from the first method. I don't have that section: R.raytracing.enable. What do I do?

As of 11/10/23, Uninstalling Reshade fixed the game not launching for me.
