I managed to scrape together just enough last year to get one. It's not a top-tier like a Standard or a Custom, but it's a Gibson, it's a cherry burst (Tribute model) and I love it. Now, I have to get good enough to do it justice. Great video, Marty!

Les Paul, Michael Bloomfield, Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Jeff Beck, Paul Kossoff, Mick Ralphs... Hell, Bloomfield and Clapton were THE TWO players who made the phenomenal demand for Les Pauls come about, after a few years of them barely being able to be sold at reduced prices, following their being discontinued... ! Storeowners said they "couldn't give 'em away" before Bloomfield and Clapton came around playin' 'em. Many of the very faded original 'bursts got that way from lingering, unsold, in the sunlight near store windows for far too long... !

Just got my dream guitar. A 2016 Les Paul standard cherry burst flame top. It feels like pure silk in my hands. A great companion for my 2010 American Stratocaster 3 color sunburst.

Did you ever notice that the only person playing a Les Paul in the 50s was Les Paul? Funny how they got so popular later. About Jimmy Page, he is so identified with the Les Paul now that a lot of people don't realize he recorded most of the first two Zeppelin albums with a Telecaster.
