Hello Steve, I thought you were going to say you ban the use of Post-Its wherever you hav authority to set policy.. loll But, you ban the use of printers instead!.. I understand your motivation, but a Post-It in the trash after 10 mins on the 'fridge doesn't represent the many important purposes that printed materials serve in an office setting, often for months and years.
Assuming that you encourage the use of pdf's on desktops in the office and laptops and tablets out in the field, keep in mind all the energy required to keep all of those device batteries sufficiently charged at all times in order to keep your vital documents accessible whenever needed...

A one-time run of a hard copy, in many cases, is the greener option.

DON'T TALK DUMB! Without paper you'd still be in a cave! What do you think we should use the electric grid everytime, no waste there is there! Dah! That essential post-it note on a frig during a power outage may save lives, while you're waiting for electricity! Trees keep growing, they are super renewable!
