FEIRA MEDIEVAL LEÇA DO BALIO 2019

O Mosteiro de Leça do Balio assume um papel de relevo
no acolhimento e assistência aos romeiros na sua rota
secular de visita ao Apóstolo em Compostela.
Trata-se de um belo exemplar do monumental gótico português
que integra o património da Humanidade no Caminho de Santiago.
A Ordem dos Hospitalários, no século XII faz desta estrutura a sua
casa mãe em Portugal dedicando-se ao exercício da assistência e caridade.

Leça do Balio Monastery takes a prominent role in welcoming and assisting
pilgrims on their route visit to the Apostle in Compostela.
It is a fine example of the monumental Portuguese Gothic which integrates
the humanity heritage on the Way to Santiago.
The Order of Hospitallers in the twelfth century makes this structure its
mother house in Portugal dedicated to the exercise of assistance and charity.
