How to use multiple Blender versions

In this video I explain how you can use multiple Blender versions on 1 computer without even installing it.
Why would you need/want more than one instance of Blender?
Maybe you want to use different layouts/themes for sculpting and modelling, maybe you want to use instances with different addons activated.

Thank you so much! I spent several days looking for how to use a portable Blender on Mac. Your way is working perfectly! In Mac OS it will be: users > [username] > Library > Application Support > Blender > 3.1 (here will be your version), where Christina has AppData > Roaming on PC. You need to copy your version of Blender in .dmg format to your desired place and then double click to open and the Blender icon will appear and tell you to move it to Application folder, so DO NOT DO THAT, BUT right-click an icon "Show Package content" > MacOS > Blender - click it and open a Blender app). After that, you need to create a new 'config' folder on the path /Users/[username]/[some folder]/Blender/Blender
If you don't see Library folder because it is usually hidden, go to Finder > Go > Go to Folder and write ~/Library and hit Enter. That's it! :)

I hope my comment will help someone :)

Thanks, that was enough information for me to know how to do it on a Mac. Basically on a Mac, just add the 'config' folder in the same place after 'Show Package Contents'.

Thanks for the video, Christina. Although I use Linux, I think Windows users will appreciate it for how well explained it is. By the way, I love the new splashscreen. I didn't know this artist and it turns out that he has Spanish content on his channel and website. Grateful for sharing the author's information : ^ )

Damn, this is really helpful information, especially when you want to test addons in a clean environment without messing your working blender version up :D

Thanks as a newbie this is the tutorial I really needed and it clarifies thing really well, because I messed up blender. I just keep installing multiple versions of blender and addons, then later on discovering bugs like randomly can't undo in shader editor/painting and shaders don't look the same like in the tutorial.
I want to start fresh but I don't know if everything will be deleted if I uninstall blender using control panel->uninstall programs

Thanks for making this video. Gosh, I wish someone would make an Addon to manage Addon profiles. Like the user profile for all of Blender but dedicated to just the addons. It would be great to flip between different Addon activation for Modeling, Texturing, animation, and so on. I like to keep a lean Blender for load time and overhead. Thanks again for the video
