When I first heard AP years ago, his voice eerily reminded me of Rich’s. Now I know why

AP is an absolutely amazing songwriter and lyricist himself, but I would pay for an album of just AP covers of Rich songs.

This songs will always get me. It's one I imagine we could sing in heaven in retrospect with deeper knowing than we currently carry in our mortal heads.

It is amazing how song can be carried from one person to the next making the revelation of God last until the world ends.

Lyrics

Well the moon moved past Nebraska
And spilled laughter on them cold Dakota Hills
And angels danced on Jacob's stairs

Yeah, they danced on Jacob's stairs
There is this silence in the Badlands
And over Kansas the whole universe was stilled
By the whisper of a prayer
The whisper of a prayer

And the single hawk bursts into flight
And in the east the whole horizon is in flames
I feel thunder in the sky
I see the sky about to rain
And I hear the prairies calling out Your name

I can feel the earth tremble
Beneath the rumbling of the buffalo hooves
And the fury in the pheasant's wings
And there's fury in a pheasant's wings
It tells me the Lord is in His temple
And there is still a faith
That can make the mountains move
And a love that can make the heavens ring
And I've seen love make heaven ring

Where the sacred rivers meet
Beneath the shadow of the Keeper of the plains
I feel thunder in the sky
I see the sky about to rain
And I hear the prairies calling out Your name

From the place where morning gathers
You can look sometimes forever 'til you see
What time may never know
What time may never know
How the Lord takes by its corners this old world
And shakes us forward and shakes us free
To run wild with the hope
To run wild with the hope

The hope that this thirst will not last long
That it will soon drown in the song
Not sung in vain
And I feel thunder in the sky
I see the sky about to rain
And I hear the prairies calling out Your name

Very Beautiful! Such poetic lyrics and melody! The whole arrangement fits and conveys the feeling of the plains. Rich saw God’s hand everywhere and that same eye in me has always known that the beauty in nature is because HE loves us so much. The delicious taste of food, colors everywhere and the sounds we hear all speak of HIS love. Thanks for putting this up for us!

The bass is clipped off so that the lower string totally disappears. Even with bass boost JPLs it’s gone.

I am so glad I came across your channel. You are annointed. I have never ever heard anyone cover Rich Mullins as well as you. Thanks for sharing.

I had a friend recently recommend your music to me. I felt you may have been influenced by Rich M. His lyrics and melodies were seamless and spoke volumes. I sure appreciate your work and It has helped revive a very weary soul. Thank You.

and the place where morning gathers, ....goosebumps all over my heart! I am wondering what tuning you are using here? Drop D, some kind of open tuning? and when oh when are you coming to Canada (especially Atlantic Canada!)

Is this in open D? Anyone know the chords?

Anyone know what tuning he's in? It doesn't look like standard.
