So when your deciding on a nano tank heater you obviously want something that is small and reliable and so far the tetra heater has done me well. They do sell bigger models up to 55 gallons but I've never used them, I only used the ones that go up to 10 gallons.

The reason for this is that the heater is preset at 78 degrees and it is designed to keep the temp at that point, there is no dial or meter to be able to change the temperature so you are constrained to that point.

On small tanks however I really like this feature, for most nano tank fish and most fish in general 78 is the perfect temperature and this heater being preset at it allows for the heater to be plug and play. On larger tanks I like having the heater dial in-case I need to change the temperature for any reason but that's just my preference.

This heater is only $10 for the 10 gallon version which would usually make me very hesitant to buy it, but I bought it when I was young when I didn't really care about that stuff and I have used it ever since. It is probably the simplest and cheapest heater you can buy on the market.

The reason why I am recommending it is with that over around 5 years of using it, I haven't had any problems with it. Is it possible you might have problems with it, yes, but literally every heater has reviews where people have complained that it failed and killed all their fish.

Unfortunately you have to pick the heaters that have the least chance of that happening. Even then the chance of the heaters cooking your fish is pretty slim. If you are paranoid about cooking your fish, I’d say to replace your heaters every couple of years or buy a temperature controller. I know there is definitely the technology to make a reliable heater but maybe companies can’t make it at an affordable price to where the general population will buy it.

This heater being so easy to use allows me to use it when I make makeshift tanks in emergencies when either I need to quarantine a fish or isolate it temporarily if it becomes too aggressive. But yea I have around 3 or 4 of these heaters lying around because I used to have a couple of nano tanks and I’d always buy these heaters since they were so cheap.

I hope this video was helpful for you in deciding what heater to buy for a nano tank, usually I don't really buy any tetra products anymore as I go for the more fancier brands that are for more experienced hobbyists but this is a great little heater for your little nano tank, and that's all I have to say about it, make sure to like and subscribe and I’ll see you in a bit!

*I see the price varying for this heater but I was able to secure it for $10-$15 most of the times
