I think people are more joking about it rather than hating. In the GFL2 subreddit, they are calling her comrade Lumine, there's even a meme where Aether mistakes Nagant as Lumine. At the end of the day it's just hair and the hairstyle can be seen in older medias like the MC of Sakura Quest anime.

To be fair, Nagant / Nagant Revolver had similiar hair in Girl's Frontline 1
So in 2016 when Genshin was a mere distant dream.

It just wasn't as obvious because there was only an Artwork and a chibi to go by, not a full-on 3D model

The funny thing is people people don’t understand that when it comes to stories and characters and stuff. As long as you don’t one hundred percent copy. You can take a lot of creative liberties. I mean hell. They were multiple stories with the main characters name is Kirito. They all have black hair. They all the girls. Intellectual property is a pain and I have to deal with. The thing is you really can’t intellectually copyright a style of character.

In mini fictions and mini drawings. People are allowed to take creative liberties that they like. I mean Nagant has different accessories and outfits.
