Max should have asked Lando to glue it back together and stream the repair online. I think that would have created a more story rich trophy than just a replacement.

I get both sides of the argument. I love that in the highest tier of motorsport, we can get drivers who can engage in some tomfoolery while celebrating their awards. On the other hand, if I were the craftsman who painstakingly made the trophies, I'd be a bit hurt too if it was immediately broken due to a bit of childsplay.

People should stop being so mad at this accident. We can laugh at what happened, but we also should give due honor to the hardworking craftsmen preserving Hungarian tradition.

People are making so much out of this like they've never accidentally broken something. S--t happens, that's life. No one's crying over this. Lando and Max are mates who laughed about it when it happened, and joked about this to the press, McLaren apologized, Lando apologized on Insta to Max, the trophy has a life time guarantee and is being replaced. It's fine guys. Really.
