About the video:
Ever since I started my fitness journey about 12 years ago, I have become obsessed with finding what separates those who see results vs. those who keep struggling. We all know the basics of staying in a calorie deficit, lifting weights, getting more protein, and working on sleep. But there are some things that the successful minority do which put them ahead of everyone else who struggles with being stuck not losing weight or not seeing results from lifting. There's that minority that seems to be seeing much better results on the fitness journey and reaching their goals much faster.

And in this video, I will share my perspective and what I believe you can do to get ahead of 90% of other people in the gym. These are some things I wish I had known about earlier on my journey, and they will ensure your hard work goes in the right direction.

I am 75 and have been working out for 61 years. Everything you say is exactly on point. Excellent presentation. Consistency is the key just make sure to be consistent about the right things.

Start with consistency. Intensity and optimization will follow, if only to break up the monotony of the routine. Commit to never taking steps backwards. Listen to your body and allow yourself low intensity days to manage burnout. It’s like walking across the country; no step needs to be extraordinary, no need to sprint, just take manageable steps forward consistently with no steps back for a really, really, really long time and you will get there, guaranteed.

I love that your videos focus of the psychological and philosophical side of lifting. Almost no one else talks about this stuff and it's so important!

Training intensity is the thing that seems to be lacking most often.

Been listening to your channel and Sean Nalejwanyj for the last few months and applying the thought process and putting in the work as I've been struggling to get to the last bit of push to get to the physique I want, and voila... I am sooo happy with how my muscles are on point with the ABS to show. True Story. I'm glad chose to listen to the right people in the industry. Also, I feel like I can actually maintain this for the long haul. Been around 15% for a few years every time I cut but now, obviously less than that with the right amount of muscle. Thank you so much. People need your channels.

Very good advice and I find this relatable to myself. This is exactly what I did to lose 54 pounds in a year. I was 92.50kg - now I'm currently sitting at 68.10kg

Progress is just so painstakingly slow its hard to tell whats working sometimes. I like what you said about Massive Amounts of patience for that reason.

I am a 39 year old newbie that has been working out for 6 months and I would say that I have surpassed 90% of people in the gym and probably 100% of other newbies.

I started at 23% body fat. I am down to 14.5%. I am 6'3", 217lbs, I do light cardio (30-40 minute incline walk) 5-6 times a week and generally try to spend another hour walking in the city or throughout stores/mall. I focus on progressive overload. I stay away from exercises that I do not understand or cannot do with good form.

My BMR is 2, 100 kcals. I usually eat between 2, 000-2, 500 calories a day, 150 grams of protein. I try to burn 500-600 calories a day in the gym and a little more through NEAT. I do not eat a ton of candy or ice cream. I used to drink a ton of Coke, I stopped drinking sugary pops in general.I was never a big fan of cookies and pastries so not eating those was not a problem. I also stopped drinking alcohol.

With dedication, it is possible to get pretty ripped pretty quick. My before/after photos are night and day in 6 months.

Always, and no exaggeration, you are spot on. I can relate to this even though I made my progress. Keeps me motivated and on my toes to not slacking… the sleep, must be the most underrated thing, and also maybe the hardest to adapt to. Keep it up, thank you for great content and the honest approach to everything

Very good advice. Thank you for being honest. I think the older one gets the more important it is to track calories, macros and training routines.

I really appreciate your channel! You are my YT coach and help me stay on track. You are one of my tools to remember that consistency is key. You are on of the guides I use when my brain tells me to give up or loosen my discipline. I especially appreciate the recognition of evolution of lifestyle improvements over time. Thank you, Mario😊
