SONG #0524 23-11-22

Title: One Red Rose (faster and extended version)

Artists: JOHN PRINE ft ROGER COOK

Format: Tape demo

Label/Publisher: Picalic (tbc)

Year: 1979

Composer: John Prine

Footnote:

Here is John Prine featuring Roger Cook on backing vocal performing a faster and extended version of “One Red Rose”. Song has been extracted from a Picalic Music demo tape from the late 1970’s. Not sure how this song came to be on the tape? possibly due to John’s close involvement to Roger Cook. Looks like this faster version was shelved to make way for the slower one, that soon appeared on his 1980 album “Storm Windows”. John and Roger have been gifted with writing many classics together over the years including “I Just Want To Dance With You”, “I Have Met My Love Today”, “Love Is On A Roll”, “Only Love”, “Be My Friend Tonight”, “Unlonely”, My Darlin’ Hometown”, “Glory Of True Love”, and more.

Something different for a change instead of hearing the same hits over and over again, I have dug out 3 thousand related songs to Roger Cook and Roger Greenaway. All are NON HITS!

I will be playing one song a day. It looks like I'll be finished in around 9 years time! All songs are somehow related to Cook & Greenaway. Written, Produced, Performed, Back vocal, Record label, Publishing. ENJOY!
