Henry “Hank” Coates, President and CEO of the Commemorative Air Force, held a press conference on the collision at a Dallas air show, and said that the B-17 air craft would normally have a crew of four or five, and the Kingcobra would just have a pilot. He was not able to identify how many people were aboard the planes.

...so what, are you going to "investigate" race cars that crash during auto racing events? Here's a clue - needless show-off air shows doing dangerous stunts they ABSOLUTELY should not be doing. How about just Stop these stupid events!

This is typical irresponsibility behavior of Air Show organizers. They don't care about everything except their pay. Who is flying the vintage planes ? Are the pilots and crews qualify to fly the vintage planes ? Are the vintage planes well maintain and air worthy ? Other stuffs seem to be none of their business.
I feel that the problem is the fly past. if you see the fly past in other countries. Each group of aircrafts formation are at least 1-2 minutes away from each other. The fast and slow aircrafts are in different groups. Normally the faster aircraft in the front formation and slower aircraft behind. If the organizer tried to mix all type of aircraft together. It is a big challenge and every pilot involve need to be inform to fly at a specify cruising speed and height to avoid accident like this. Lack of air traffic control at the air show is root cause for this collision.
