I live here in Canada B.C. We get a lot of rain, wind, and lightning. My favorite, is whenever the power would go out and my mom would order Chinese food. And when it arrived, we would all be sitting around the dimly lit candles as we listened to the rain. Ugh such great memories. I miss it.

This reminds me of when I was younger, my grandfather and I would sit on his porch and watch the storm pass by. It was a screen porch so some rain got through, but it was always so relaxing to sit there with my family during the storm on the porch and talk.

As you stand at your window, looking out into dark night, the rain starts pouring and the wind send shivers down your spine and you feel the cool air on your your pores are raised as the thunder roars loudly and lights up the night sky....makes me wish I was somewhere far far away, like a log cabin on the mountain top, overlooking the ocean.

I just woke up from a wonderfully warm and comfortable nights sleep. Thank you Ambient for sharing this. My wish is that everyone everywhere had a warm safe space to lay their head at night. I am so grateful, and you should be to, if you have this most basic need met of shelter and warmth. I decided as soon as i woke up this morning that I'm going to round up all the extra blankets and pillows in my home, and go personally donate them to the homeless in my neighborhood. Thousands die worldwide each year from hypothermia, they die from something so easily prevented. Winter is coming! Anybody else want to commit to donating a blanket or two!? You can also take them to your local shelter or charity. I hope each and every one of you that reads this has a peaceful, comfortable, wonderful night of sleep!
