I do not know how you even begin to rank Jane Austen's works, let alone pick a favorite (though Pride and Prejudice is really, really good if not arguably the best), so kudos to you. I love that you made this video and read all six of her main novels, it makes me remember a book on my shelf with all six and how I should probably also carve out some time to read past just Pride and Prejudice and Emma. I am a Pittsburgher who came from Olive Fellows' channel a few days ago, and I am enjoying all your perspectives on books and reading so far!! (Especially your video on Scotland/the historical fiction recommendations, thank you so much. 💕)

Loved hearing your thoughts on these. Particularly Emma, which a lot of my book friends didn't enjoy ... but I totally agree with you that Austen's talent comes out so well in the way she portrays flawed characters and their character development!

Love Austin so much, and love seeing what people think about each of her works!

Lovely video! Pride and Prejudice will always have a special place in my heart and I will return to it over and over! I will keep this video to rewatch in Jane Austen July! 😊📚

I really want to read Pride and Prejudice again! It was part of my assigned reading in High School, and of course I didn't appreciate it at the time. But now that I'm older and I am familiar with themes that this book explores, I'm way more interested in it!

So hard to make a ranking - I’m firm on my top one (Persuasion) and bottom (Northanger Abbey) but the others move constantly! Hoping to reread the other 4 this year to make up my mind fully

great video! have you seen the Colin Firth / Jennifer Ehle version of Pride and Prejudice? I loved that one a lot so couldn't get into the Keira Knightly one when it came out - maybe I'll try it again sometime. I haven't actually read any Jane Austen :) I also loved Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson. I may have to read that one to see the sisters' relationship on the page. Persuasion is one I haven't really heard much about - I may have to check it out based on your review :)
Super interesting about writing order vs publishing order, and where to start with reading it!
