The word Kouign roughly translates to Cake and Amann to Butter. A ratio usually made of 40 percent dough, 30 percent butter, and 30 percent sugar make up this treat that’s been historically described as “the fattiest pastry in all of Europe.” How could you not love that!!

Not all Queens are created equally tho, this Queen from @wayfarer_bread is the best one I’ve ever had outside of France BY FAR.

Actually yours might be a perfected version of the traditional, which has a buch of sugar and butter in it; and its sticky. Yours is not only healthier but has a croissant-like feel, indicating its better for pairing with coffee or milk. Ive tried the original and its not something I would like to eat regularly. Yours however can attract loyal customers.

That's definitely not Kouign Amann.. That shape that you're showing looks like pastry dough rolled into a cylinder. Kouign Amann on the other hand is folded precisely in a way that opens up in the oven to look almost like a flower.

Not "queen aman". The correct French/Breton pronunciation is more like "koon-yah-man"
