That turned from one of the worst starts to one of the best finishes to a college football game ive seen in a while.

Almost 15 years ago on a snowy December Saturday at then called Heinz Field. Pitt and Cincinnati were playing for the Big East Title, the Panthers had a 31-10 lead, and a lost a heartbreak 45-44, which was a gut wrenching loss.

Almost 15 years later, the stakes were not high, but this time it’s Pitt who rallies from a 21 point deficit to win a thriller at Nippert Stadium.

With what Pitt had at QB last year with Phil Jurkovec and Christian Vellieux, Eli Holstein has been a breath of fresh air. By no means was he perfect yesterday. He was not good in the first half, but man did play clutch in the second half, especially in the fourth quarter.

For a guy that has played just two collegiate games, I like what I see. Only time will tell if he can continue, but he has me excited and Desmond Reid, OMG what an exciting player he has been.

Im too young to truly remember when the River City Rivalry was at its peak in the 2000s. I hope they extend this deal so we can play Cincinnati every year, Cincinnati is still a rival but its not the same as it was in the old Big East days,
