NieR: Automata Ending Theme: Weight of the world - arranged on a grand piano.
What a beautiful song. Playing this song on the piano was so satisfying, I even added a repeat of the third chorus just to enjoy the glorious chorus melody one more time. The soundtrack is truly a masterpiece and after finishing the game I felt like I my entire life has changed. For the better.
Yoko Taro - the video game director - is a true genius, who knows how to deeply touch our souls with brilliant storytelling, compelling characters and an amazing dilemma choice at the end of the game. Truly revolutionary game.

I also have some personal words to you, my dear fans:

I know it's been a while since my last upload. It's just... that a lot of things has happened to me in the last few months. But let me just say that I really miss you guys on youtube.

I am very sorry for not uploading that many videos anymore.
Maybe the light of passion inside is close to burning out.

But either way, I must go on. I have chosen my path as an Anime Pianist, and I will stick to my own decision.
And this video is the proof, that I am still trying my best.

Thank you for your everlasting support. I will always be grateful to you guys for listening to my piano music.

Thank you for everything.

Hey Animenz,
Maybe this will cheer you up.
My piano teacher, a old and very experienced man, praised your sheets quite a lot. I played attack on Titan and moonlight densetsu with him and he was really fascinated by how you combined this new anime music with classical elements. And that in such high quality. He constantly finds old pieces he connects with structures in your work and talks about how great they are integrated.
And I also really like to play your pieces. They just make sense to me an give great feedback to the pianist. I just like your stile.^^
I also was on your concert in Munich, but sadly only bought one of the books... :/

I really do hope you find inspiration again, but you shouldn’t force anything. You made so many by now that you can lean back and relax. Maybe that will help you regain your inspiration. We as fans don’t want to stress you. We want to support you.
I hope your anime music keeps on going. (I really like the intro of Evangelion in the medley, maybe improve on that). That’s all from me. Have a nice day :)

Animenz, I will always support you because you are the one that inspired me to pick up piano after I grew to hate it and had no passion for it. My parents forced piano onto me from 1st grade and by 11th grade they finally let me quit. I was done, I never wanted to waste my time on playing an instrument I have no interest in. I stopped improving long before they let me quit, I never wanted to practice, and for 3 years I was never able to finish a song during a recital.

Then a year later during my senior year of high school, I found out about anime and a few months before my high school graduation I found one of your videos from years ago. I don't remember which transcription it was but I think it was your No Game No Life cover and I came over to the piano and started to learn again.

I wasn't good, the piece was way above my level and I couldn't even figure out to play the notes correctly from the very beginning and there was no way I was going to play it up to speed. Fast forward 2 years later. It's January of 2017 and I'm in the middle of my winter break in my second year of college. My playing hasn't improved, I learned a janky version of the first few lines of your No Game No Life sheet music, and haven't played piano since. Just on and off a little when I'm home. And then I just think what if I buy a keyboard, a week later I return to college having bought my own keyboard to play in my dorm.

Now fast forward to today. My playing has improved tremendously, for the first time a few months ago my playing felt natural. I can practice for hours each day and it feels like minutes. I want to play piano, and I love learning pieces from different animes I've watched. I can play your No Game No Life cover correctly now, and up to speed for a page and a half (I haven't tried to learn more for a while now and I really should get back to that, I think my left hand can finally play the 16th notes from the second page up to speed with practice. Something I never thought I would be able to achieve.) I've learned half of your Everyday world - Oregairu transcription. I started to learn your Guilty Crown - Departures transcription and was able to roughly play a page and a half after about 5 hours of practice over a few days when I had free time. Recently I started to learn your Owari no Sekai Kara transcription and after just 3 hours and just 3 days, I can play a full page with just playing when I have a few mins. of free time.

I'm blown away by how much my ability has improved, the rate of how quickly I can read sheet music and play without having to look down all the time for each note. I can't believe how natural my playing now feels. It's all thanks to you.

Thank you for inspiring me to play the piano, and find joy in playing music. Thank you for inspiring me to improve, and finding a passion for the piano. It even extended to me buying a guitar last week because I want to learn more now. You helped me create a space for myself for when I feel lost, I can come back to the piano and just play without struggling.

I can't ask you to please make sheet music because I understand where you are right now. You have to find something to get yourself back on your feet. Maybe that's not in piano right now, explore some other hobbies if you need some time away from the piano. And if you choose to keep playing and upload you don't have to make complete covers. I know many people just want to hear you play, the sound of your piano. I am in love with your Neir Automata covers and I hope to be good enough to be able to play them without needing sheet music one day because they are beautiful.

One anime that is very special for me is Your Lie in April, it helped me realize I was going through depression 3 years ago and resonated with so many different parts of my life. To me you are like Kaori, you brought color into my life and for that, I am forever grateful. Thank you for making sheet music.

Animenz, it's not a big deal if you're not able to produce sheets for now.
Indeed, through the story of this channel, there has been other hard times, I remember there was a time when you wanted to definitely stop doing piano covers. But you continued anyway. I remember the struggle to write the ending of Owari no Sekai Kara, or the Air/Kanon/Clannad medley; it was hard but you always did it in the end.
So I have faith in you, it's impossible to lose your creative power like this, forever.
Take the time you need, and come back more strong than ever! I (and a lot of other people for sure) will wait for your return.

I've been playing piano for 5 years now.. (almost 6) and if I asked myself.. why I play piano.. I never knew the answer, it was just because my parents told me to do so.. Last year I started watching anime.. and I loved Tokyo ghoul - Unravel.. btw I never tried searching for piano videos and stuff.. then one time.. I listened to YOUR Tokyo ghoul Unravel.. I litterally LOVED IT.. From that one time I started listening to piano SO MUCH.. before I didnt like classical music.. now I love it.. Chopin nocturnes.. UGH I LOVE THEM.. now I am even considering to do something with music, with piano in the future as profession.. well.. now I am listening to a lot of your covers daily.. I find it very inspirational.. and I'm getting pretty good with the unravel song's left hand jumps.. Now I can't live without piano.. YOU CHANGED ME AND MY LIFE.. THANK YOU FROM THE DEEPS OF MY HEART.. BTW CAN I GET SOME LIKES.. I WANT ANIMENZ TO SEE THIS.. please.. I would be really gratefull.. this cover is very nice too btw.. good job.. keep it up..

There's so much emotion here. I've listened to other versions of this on piano but nothing else captures the feeling as well as this. I'm blown away, this is absolutely beautiful.

I feel like I'm losing hope
In my body and my soul
And the sky, it looks so ominous
And as time comes to a halt
Silence starts to overflow
My cries are inconspicuous

Tell me God, are you punishing me?
Is this the price I'm paying for my past mistakes?
This is my redemption song
I need you more than ever right now
Can you hear me now?

'Cause we're gonna shout it loud
Even if our words seem meaningless
It's like I'm carrying the weight of the world
I wish that someway, somehow
That I could save every one of us
But the truth is that I'm only one girl
Maybe if I keep believing my dreams will come to life
Come to life

After all the laughter fades
Signs of life all washed away
I can still, still feel a gentle breeze
No matter how hard I pray
Signs of warning still remain
And life has become my enemy

Tell me God, are you punishing me?
Is this the price I'm paying for my past mistakes?
This is my redemption song
I need you more than ever right now
Can you hear me now?

'Cause we're gonna shout it loud
Even if our words seem meaningless
It's like I'm carrying the weight of the world
I wish that someway, somehow
That I could save every one of us
But the truth is that I'm only one girl
Maybe if I keep believing my dreams will come to life
Come to life

'Cause we're gonna shout it loud
Even if our words seem meaningless
Like I'm carrying the weight of the world
I wish that someway, somehow
That I could save every one of us
But the truth is that I'm only one girl

Still, we're gonna shout it loud
Even if our words seem meaningless
It's like I'm carrying the weight of the world
I hope that someway, somehow
That I could save every one of us
But the truth is that I'm only one girl
Maybe if I keep believing my dreams will come to life
Come to life

Wow. I just arranged this piece a three days ago. And then you release it. Best way for me to compare and see how I can try being as good as you one day (I believe I will never manage too). Can't wait to see more of your videos great Animenz. Good luck with your work and projects. You're leveling up the content we have on Youtube. Thank you for that.
About your fears that I can read in description, please don't feel bad. Truly, you don't have to "stick" to anything. Being famous doesn't mean that you have to force yourself to respect every word you pronounced. So what ? Are you forced to be the same than you were when you wrote that tweet or Facebook post 5 years ago ? I hope everybody here would agree with me to say that whatever you do, we will continue to support you. And if one day some of us stop to support you, it would just mean we found other hobbies, and also that some other people will start to be interested with your works. Please, with you passion and talent just do whatever you wish to feel good and serene during your life. Play, teach, write, improvise, compose, sing, jump, dance. Whatever. We must not be jail guards for you! Keep up Animenz. We wish you all the best.

Hi Animenz,

Nice to see you upload again! First of all, I want to say I will and many other fans will unconditionally support your channel forever. The support doesn’t change just because you are inactive or doesn’t make sheet arrangement.

I just want to comment on the observation of the community over the years as a whole. I think the special thing that you and Ishter is that not only did you make wonderful music but also inspired other pianists and even other instrumentalist/vocalists to start YouTube and play/arrange anime music. You have started and inspired a whole entire community. This is something, in my mind, the most special inspiring thing you have achieved.

In the community we had several ‘highs’. The first one being around guilty crown period 2011/12. Everyone was inspired by your arrangement and ishter’s which inspired a lot of the first generation of anime pianists like me, Zacky and many others. The second was around the first season in attack on titan where we saw the most amount of piano covers EVER on YouTube. Again people were hugely inspired by you and ishter and others.

The community started from around less than 10 anime pianists in 2011 to about 100 in 2013. Now we are at around maybe 500.

In the ‘foundation period’, there were only a few of us making covers in a medium pace. Zacky, you, ishter among a few others.

In the second period, around attack on titan S1, we saw many legends like Egoisthium, Baddydan rise. The important change in this period was that egoisthium and a few others drastically change the output of anime piano covers! People were essentially racing to get the arrangement out as soon as possible. In this period, arrangement could come as fast as 1-2 weeks per a video. We got more quantity and slightly more quality

In the third period, we have the rise of the improvisers and jazz. People stopped making sheets and started to improvise/play by ear. Admittedly at first it seems to be a decrease in quality but not really actually. New sounds came out. Naravano, egoishium etc started to not make sheets. Ishter stopped making sheets etc

Yes without making sheets you are scarificijg the details in the arrangement. It is always nice and perfect to listen to. Even though I miss the old times where everyone makes sheet But I want to say sometimes improvising can be ‘better’ than making sheet. It brings out more emotions due to the more freedom you get in the processs. Kyleandry marsary8 for example always improvised yet his sounds is one of the best. I don’t think you stopping to make sheet will stop your progress. I think changing to improvisation is just a change of direction and sound. Again professional jazz musicians improvises all day and they get better. There is no ceiling in anime piano. You can always improve imo. There is room to grow even if you go full improvisation! We will always follow you.

Unfortunately, there is a general decline in the anime piano community. Maybe is because everyone was young at the beginning and there were no obstacles in our life. We could make as much music as we wanted. But when we age, we had to start accept responsibilities and face up to the cruel reality- that is the current capitalist society never really favored musicians. We can’t really be troubled free (this could be a strength of musicians though. It gives us the ‘emotions’ we hear). People have been less active and some pianists even stopped their channel altogether. This is due to a number of factors, high school, graduating high school, university, career. For most, they don’t have the courage to pick music as a career because it is not sustain for them even though they are talented. Maybe people have the same dilemma. But I commend you, Ishter and some others to have the courage to pursue anime piano as your full time job/career. This is a very interesting new direction. We understand it would be hard and we will support you all the way.

Despite the decline, one thing is true. We are all what we are. Anime piano is part of us. We always support the community or contribute one way or another in the ways we can. Even if it is less uploads, less hours. We support in different ways watching other people’s cover, commenting! In fact that’s what I really love about the community.

I understand that you are ‘the person’ running in the front of the group, leading the group into the unkown. There is a lot of pressure because many of us were inspired and look up on you. But the thing is, you don’t have to see it this way. This kid of mindset can create a lot of ‘weight on your shoulders’ if you like. My point is that it is ok to slow down. It is ok. You are not alone in this. You have a whole entire community behind you to support you. There are not there to pressure you. There are not there to say if you didn’t do this you will ****. As far as everyone here, see it for your self the comments. We are very supportive of you. There is no need to be pressured and be in that mindset. No matter what you do in the future, people like me will always support you because you started that spark in our heart. We will forever cherish it. Just take it at your own pace. You can’t upload as often? Fine, it’s ok. We are not disappointed. We will wait for your return.

If you want to go into improvisation and less sheets, you know we will support you.

The only thing about the sheet is that sheets is very symbolic imo to the community because of your sheets, many started started/re-started piano just to play those legendary master pieces. Just look at how many ‘my dearest’, Euterpe covers out there on YouTube that plays your sheet. They don’t get many views for playing your arrangement. In fact in a way making their own arrangement generate more views. But why do they still play and post them? Because we love you and you have left something behind that we can share. People not only play your sheets on YouTube/online. People also play them offfline. I for example performed your arrangement of Euterpe in front of my school in front of the school assembly which had around 1, 000 audiences. Many of them where not anime fans. But many people at the end came up to me and told me that is is beautiful and they would like to know where the music came from. I would always be happy and pride to reply. From my idol Animenz. From anime. From piano. I also met many people in my school across year levels who loved anime as a result that I never knew existed until I played your arrangement in front of the school.

One possible solution I can pose to you in the future is that if you are going to start improvising, it’s ok. Just make sure to get someone (maybe unlimitedmusicworks) in or outside of the community to transcribe your improvisations. There are many out there who would love transcribing your work. The reason this is important is you don’t have to do the work but you can leave something behind! To share with us. To inspire the community.

Anyways best of luck in the future. It is quite a coincidence that we get highs and lows at the same time several times already. When you graduated university, I graduated high school. We are all in a new stage of life. We need time to adjust to these changes and I understand,

Your sincerely forever,

AnimePianoangel

Beautiful cover. I'm so happy to hear you play this song.

Please don't feel disheartened about change; your passions may come and go and that's okay. Just keep doing what you love. If you really want to keep doing something, do it even if you don't feel like it, because it's still work done; however, don't push yourself to the point that it makes you miserable. Life happens and isn't always friendly, and people change. You do you, and we love you :)

Thank you Animenz!
A bit more than a year ago I hadn't played very much piano when I stumbled upon your version of Unravel. I just wanted to try to learn the beginning, which I did. This was during a period when I was...feeling pretty depressed. I decided to learn the rest of the song (not the four minutes, only up to 90 sec or so). While doing this, I discovered both that I was pretty good at piano, which was nice because I felt like I was good at nothing at the time, and that it was really fun to play. In time, I did learn the rest...of course I couldn't play it even near as good as you, but it was alright :D

I then played what I wanted to play, both songs from you and Theishter. To stay alive (almost literally) because of an interest, in my case piano, is tbh pretty weird...something in your life is off if you almost literally get saved by an interest. We live in what IMO is dire times; it is an age of depression; atheism and nihilism. Anyways, you anime pianists kept me developing my piano skills and having a good time doing so, which resulted in me getting to where I am today - a generally happy, healthy and dedicated person (also way better at piano than before :D) - the complete opposite to what I was 2 years ago. You and your arrangements have helped me a great deal, with life and with my passion for piano.

A simple thank you through this comment which most likely no one will see is not much, but it at least feels better than writing nothing. Keep up the good work in the way you see fitting. Don't feel forced to do anything because of fame or such, and don't feel too bad if you aren't that productive with sheets and/or songs for Youtube. Do what you want to do, improve as a person (as always) and a maybe unpopular opinion...get redpilled. No I'm serious, that is the first step to self-improvement and mental happiness.
