The best communication comes in the spontaneous moments -- not recorded video. Lol. But it's still fun to share these moments and to be honest when I go back and watch them I can see areas we need to improve. Siah's yes and no can be difficult to see. He used a side gaze/head turn for "no" and an upward gaze/head tilt for "yes". BUT -- in order for him to say yes it seems he needs to move his head to the side first and then go up. Siah has no movement from the neck down and has difficulty motor planning the movement he does have in his head. With that said -- he is doing an AMAZING job and putting forth effort which is a big deal for him. It's very important to remember that for nine years he never was asked anything or had the ability to communicate anything beyond a smile. So I can be hard for him to even comprehend the concept of having an opinion and expressing a need. So that's what we are working on this past year since he came home and wow, he has come a long way!

On a side note: yesterday when I came home with the kids he asked "asking a question -- where is? -- family -- Madi". Amazing!!! Madi was not there as she has running after school! Very cool!
