I've been mixing for 20 years (on and off) and I still learn from every video I watch, people do things differently. Some over mix and over process...he keeps it simple done with great skill..Yoad explains things very well...great video!

15:55 "Watching all the hope go out the door".
Door squeaks open.
I guess that was the hope leaving.

man...a half hour into this and I'm starting to rock back and forth like a mental patient at all the "consider this" going on...I'm usually fine with musical repetition and its a very important part of driving a song home but this is just killing me for some reason

Nevo the hero.  So glad to see that such a pro can also encounter difficulty side chaining with waves plugins.  On the off chance that you read this Mr. Nevo, thank you.  I've learnt so much from your webinaars.

Yoad - a very big thank you for doing this webinar and allowing the recording to be here on YT. An awesome demonstration of vocal work with waves and how using a little can make a big difference.

Outstanding. Mr. Nevo explains how he's thinking and his subjective impressions, and explains each step precisely. Other lecturers rush through, obviously not considering how listeners will be able to follow the process of Thanks so much!

I just love learning about mixing. I want to go to school for it, but parents don't believe in it.

Thank you very much Yoad for your time and willingness to share your knowledge to make those of us that are newer to producing that much better.

Thank you for this super dope session, I like the way he talks and go throught the steps with us, instead of showing what he did.. The best masterclass I've seen so far, thank you!

For all of you who think the vocalist is awful: 1) it must be wonderful to be so good at everything. Congratulations to you.  2) if you're actually professional recording engineers, your job is to make things sound as good as you can, not to judge. Polishing turds? Yes, that's exactly what we do. Every day. That's the job. If you don't care to work with sub-awesome performances, I suggest you turn yourself into Jack Joseph Puig or Chris Lord-Alge. Then you'll have enough rep to not need to spend time commenting here.

I loved the video! You can clearly see a hell of a professional working here. It is good to see a person who really knows what he is talking about.

Even though I don't use waves at this time, this was one of the best videos I've ever seen. Great teacher. I will watch this many times. I was surprised by all the criticism on the vocalist. I have had questionable vocalists who ended up with amazing songs. There are many very famous artists who aren't great singers in the classical seance but their team including producers and mixers knew how to package them. It is not my job to be a critic, it's my job to help find their nitch and direction and hopefully make them smile when they hear the results. I absolutely hate, did I say hate, despise polka but i will mix it as though I love it with every fiber of my being. I feel I can either be a mix engineer or a critic. I actually love the difficult ones, when I am successful with them, I know I really accomplished something.

Excellent video on approaching vocals.  I've visited this quite a few times before and every time I catch something new.  The delay sidechain compression trick is really helpful.
