Tigran Hamasyan unveils his new single “The Curse”. After a much-acclaimed theatrical premiere in June 2024 of the Bird of a Thousand Voices at the Holland Festival in Amsterdam, which featured Tigran Hamasyan (piano, synths, vocals), Areni Agbabian (vocals, text), Yessai Karapetian (Synths, Keys), Marc Karapetian (electric bass) and Animals As Leaders drummer Matt Garska, this third track reveals a new facet of his album to come ; blending progressive rock, metal fusion and jazz piano melodies in a singular way. The band version of Bird of a Thousand Voices will be touring in Europe in November 2024 and in North America in March 2025. In addition, the theatrical version will see more performances in Yerevan, Paris and Antwerp over the coming year.

I spent an hour driving with this on repeat today, and I can't even imagine how deranged I look to the uninitiated -- blasting this HEAVY genre-defying headbanger, while literally wiping away tears every time I notice another BEAUTIFUL rhythmic intricacy, not to mention Tigran's goosebump-inducing harmonic territory.
