HOW TO FIX THOSE DAMN V-BANDS FROM LEAKING FOREVER!

Показать описание
First of all, the V band flanges were machined straight. Then you welded on them. That unfortunately is the down fall. We at GBE Mandrel Bending in Clackamas Oregon fell for these failing flanges as well. We bought roughly 20 of these and promoted them not knowing that they are really worthless. When they leaked, we contacted the manufacturing facility. They told us they were under a warranty AS LONG AS THEY WERE NOT ALTERED OR WELDED ON. So, in other words.. there IS NO WARRANTY as they have to be welded on. So, after a short look, we could not find anything to replace them. So we bought a Rotary end former and had dies made to our specifications. We now make and sell a Female and Male TRUE Marman flange that does not leak! The Marman flange as what they are called is basically a 22 degree lip made onto the end of a pipe or tube then a clamp is used to facilitate overall tightening without leakage. But then the exhaust will find a way to leak and that is the small portion that touches the other side of the tube. Possibly only 1/16th of an inch. with our MARMAN flanges, you get not only straight through exhaust, but you get a better, deeper sealing surface. and since our flanges are 2" long for each side, you will never get hem warped to leak. If you want to re-use them, just cut off the weld and use whats left.. after all, you have over 1.5 inches of flat tubing to reuse possibly 4 times! try to do that with the V band style flange. You use it once, then throw it away, and start over... another 20 bucks, over and over again, so is the v-bands... so, to fix the v-bands from leaking? throw the stupid things away! The diesel industry uses 3.5" and up to 24" marman flanges.. why? Because they DON'T LEAK!
Our flanges are of 14 gauge Stainless as well as our Stainless steel clamps.
