Manga may not have started with Osamu Tezuka, but the manga that we knew of today began with Osamu Tezuka.

Dude's a legend. Considering his life, his passion for art and animation is unmatched by anyone.

Didn't know he was asked by another legend Stanley Kubrick to work on 2001 Space Odyssey. That's pretty cool.

Yes, he created anime. What a guy, one of the most hard working and dedicated artist that ever lived. And he still has people loving him and his creations, Walt Disney himself believe it or not was a fan of his work and even straight up said that he wanted to make something like Astro Boy. And I think from some meme I saw of him, Walt and old famous Marvel artist Stan Lee wanted to hire Tezuka for their projects. I think.. Anyways, he was still great. And he really did make such a big intense impact, such a genius person that guy was..

I respect Tesuka a lot for what he did for the industry. Definitely a man who deserves all the recognition he gets.

Tezuka - sensei was a extreme workaholic. In one of the NHK documentaries about him they reveal that he snoozed off only three hours every three days. No wonder he has so many works under his belt though he was famous for missing deadlines.

My mom grew up watching the Arabic dubs of "Future Boy Conan", "Heidi Girl of the Alps", Little Princess Sarah and Osamu's "Kima (Not Simba) the White Lion" during the late 70s - 80s. One day, I told her about Osamu sensei and she was very excited to see one of her childhood "cartoon" creators!

he would have to draw 7 pages a day since he was born in his lifetime to reach the 150 000 pages he drew. Thats beyond insane, thats inhuman. Especially since he also worked a lot in animation

Thank you for a review on a favorite comic artist of mine! The man was just exploding with all sorts of ideas, and unlike many illustrators, he never uses the same ideas twice! He's the God of Manga indeed!
First work of his I have ever seen is Unico on VHS(both movies) at six years old. After that, my life was never the same.
