TATTON PARK classic car show 2024 | Classic cars galore

The full name for this show is the Classic and Performance Car Spectacular 2024, held at Tatton Park in Cheshire, but old-timers like me still refer to it as the Tatton Park classic car show 2024, and as usual it is mainly the older cars - vintage and classic - that will feature in this bumper upload.
I got to Tatton early in order to catch many of the arriving classic cars as they snaked into the show field, a number finding the queueing to get in a little too much for their cooling and fuel systems. Once the majority of the exhibiting cars were in place, I headed over to the ticket office and began what was a very lengthy walk around what must be one of, if not the, biggest classic cars shows in the north west of England. It's a two-day show, I just went on the Saturday.
The good thing about these large, very established, car shows is that cars from even quite some distance away make the pilgrimage, and as a result there is usually something to keep every visitor happy.
I addition to the main show, I also spent some time walking around the autojumble area, and visited the classic car auction where a variety of classic cars for sale were viewed, including a number of barn finds - poorly examples of Lancia Fulvia, "pagoda" Mercedes Benz SL missing its floors, and a sad Jensen Interceptor were the highlights for me in the projects category.
Other interesting vehicles included van and pickup versions of the Ford Model Y, a fine selection of BMC cars (Farinas, 1800s etc), Vauxhall Chevette HS and HSR, a variety of Vauxhall Vivas and a Victor F-Type (I interviewed the owner), a brace of BMW 2002s, a very dusty Humber Sceptre, an FSO/FSM Syrena, a 1950s Mk1 Sunbeam Alpine, Austin A30 (AS3 type), Hillman Minx Californian, and a pair of MG YA saloons, to name just a handful. It was also interesting to see a Ford V8 Pilot in the auction area.
Apologies for the length of this one (probably best suited to several sittings!) but it's a big show - I've already binned around 30-40 minutes of extra footage that could have made it in.
If you know of anyone else who might find these Old Classic Car videos of interest, please forward one of the above links to them.

Love to see the British autos from the old days and the very sleek more recent models. Thanks for great commentary.

Those two green MG YA saloons were my favourites, closely followed by the "purposeful" looking Big Healeys. Excellent video!

Growing up in Chester, Tatton was the first classic car show I ever went to back in the 90's. Must return at some point. Thanks for uploading

The Rolls Royce 856 XVX is bodied by Hooper. The headlights are distinctive to their bodies and the fastback styling was many times too. I saw a couple of these at the fall car show in Hershey PA many years ago. The one you show here is immaculate for sure.

I went with a club on the Sunday. Went for a walk around the independent entries ( where the show starts) and was horrified how many had been squeezed in to the area. Women with push chairs, dogs and kids, pushing in between the tightly parked vehicles. I'll bet a few discovered scratches and dings on their cherished motors by the end of the day. It was so tightly packed I gave up trying to film amongst them

1:20:04 I really like the Standard Flying V8 too. Its exhaust manifolds are right on the top, and almost in the valley. I assume that this arrangement of the exhaust manifold is to get the exhaust out of the block more expediently, rather than have the exhaust go through runners in the top of the block to the other side. Having the exhaust go through runners in the block to the other side is the arrangement in the 1932 Ford 221 cubic inch flathead V8, and the 1930-1932 Oakland/Pontiac 251 cubic inch flathead V8. This has the downside of increasing the risk of overheating, and eventually causes heat induced cracking in the bridges of metal in the top of the block between the exhaust runners/exhaust outlets in the top of the block and the tops of the cylinders.

You may regret not buying that bulb box. if you have the earlier 70s type cars the single and double filament bulbs are a must . Always have spares in the glove compartment .

The FSO was refurbed by Wheeler Sealers and they re sprayed it in the White over Burgundy. They then sold / gave it to the original country of origin’s embassy

Do like the curves of British cars of the 50s and 60s . I think the AD016 should have kept more curve in the roof line .
