A quick comparison between the Seiko Turtle SRP773K1 and the San Martin Turtle 6105 homage. Both really great value watches.

This video doesn't aim to tell you which is better. It just highlights some differences between the two.

I got my San Martin "Willard" last week and love it. It's hefty, but not as heavy as I expected. I was a little afraid it would be too big because of the 44mm case but, as everyone points out, the lug to lug is short. It's perfect for my 7" wrist. I don't have the older model to compare it to, but this one has an applied logo, which classes it up for sure over a printed one. Mine came on what San Martin calls an "upgraded" leather strap which is beautiful and high-quality. It's almost a shame to take it off, but I plan to put the watch on a rubber waffle strap. There is a domed sapphire crystal which helps with the vintage look but is subtle and not overdone. (It took about 5 weeks to arrive, but no biggie.) Great watch.

The 6105 never was and never called a Turtle!

I received my San Martin "Willard" in October. Way better watch than my SRP777J1, doesn't come close to my vintage Seiko divers, but i'm not likely to take to them with a dremel drill to fix the only thing I disliked, the upper crown guard edge. Now, it is an exceptional watch. Against Seiko's homage to their own original "Turtle", the San Martin is far better(well, far better than my example) quality and pricewise.

Started with an orient kamasu then a sumo hulk to a king samurai. I am looking for a turtle and wanted a capt. willard so badly I need to have hands on a homage to modd the dial and make it look like the real thing. I dive desk to desk I need ISO certification inorder to dive deeper on other desks. I will use the kamasu only on diving deeper than 10 meters anyways. Bucket list added but SD1970 or the RDunae seems better homages for this specific seiko watch.

The Seiko Turtle is ISO 6425 certified Divers watch. It is considered a proper tool watch suited to perform a task of 200m water resistance. I would choose the Seiko for this reason as well as the history of Seiko and particularly it's history for Diver watches.

Hello, nice review! Thanks! Do you know if the Seiko bracelet fits on the San Martin “Willard”?

Nice comparison, but while San Martin is better in spec, they just copying while improving Seiko design, while Seiko is the one who come out with that design...Both are good watches btw...Are you from SouthEast Asia? Malaysia?Singapore?
