Two thoughts:

1. Reece blatantly meant to say "Valentine's Day", then realised as he said it what an inappropriate funeral theme that would be, so added "massacre", not seeing in time that that's even worse;

2. When he was talking about the medieval-themed funeral, all I could picture was the medieval wedding from the League of Gentlemen: "I won the mums!"
