Hi Everyone. This time Retro Relix reviews the PC Engine, peripherals, performs some repairs and plays some HuCard, CD-ROM2 and Turbo EverDrive games. Also, if anyone can update or correct me regarding the SAVE GAME RAM issue I experienced, please let me know. Enjoy, Mark.

Great video so I presume that the CD player is centrepin negative as well ? I must admit this was enjoyable to watch a strange amalgam of retro Gaming and repairs, loved the montage of the clean up and repair of the main base in the middle 🎉 however getting all that memory and needing a card in order to use the CD Rom was a lot of messing around 😂 .. however it was good to see something that I don't own in action some great games played, did you know that the best version of R-Type ever released was for the PC Engine ... great video their Mark really enjoyed it ...👍👏👏

It can take a little bit of time for the internal super cap for game saves to charge up once the docking station is powered on. Especially if the system hasn't been used for a while. Once you've had the entire setup on for a bit, you'll probably be fine just reformatting the internal memory and all should be fine. No need to replace the supercapacitor for game saves as I've never come across a bad one. They last forever. The capacitors in the white CD-ROM drive though are a different story. A number of those typically go bad causing CD read issues.

Did you ever try hydrogen peroxide for rebbrightening the plastic?

I have the full briefcase with white PC Engine.

I got it with the cog fix done, but later the CD-ROM2 stopped working.
I think a UK person who runs a 'retro' museum had the same issue, I think that it's a potentiometer, that he shows how to adjust. I've been putting it off as I have an AliExpress knockoff Everdrive, but I miss playing my Vulcan Venture CD.
Folks have been using Sony Discman drives as donors in the past.

Have you found out about fixing the RAM issue ?
