Insightful Pickleball Drill That Works on Your Attacks, Resets, and Drops

Today the guys and I were working on some advanced drills that mimic real game scenarios. One player is attacking and trying to win the point against two players who are defending and trying to hit resets and drops that keep us safe.

It was really interesting to see the strengths and weaknesses of each player in each different location.

For me, I felt most confident being the attacking player, however I definitely needed most work in the transition zone and consistently hit resets. I think this drill is super insightful to see how you will fare in a real game in each phase of the game. Try this drill out and let me know what you learned!

Thanks for sharing a 3-person drill! Very useful. I think for your resets, you want to try to have your paddle tip down. Makes the vertical angle more stable and gives more reach toward the ground.

This is such a great 3 person drill. Really enjoyed seeing the different techniques or each person in the various positions.

That’s a good tip on the high arc drop shots. I never thought about it like that.

Ed, I am so jealous of your backyard court. Here in Ohio I’d need that to be in a heated barn or something.

Was there a rule that guy at kitchen couldn’t just a sharp angle to the kitchen or a drop volley? That kitchen guy should be aggressive I presume

Likewise can the defenders drive or only drop?
