Array_length_2d doesnt work anymore what do i do is there a replacement for it?

I just stumbled upon this tutorial, and it was really helpful! Thanks for explaining why each section of code is there as well - it really helped in understanding everything. I do have one question - if, when running the addAnim function, we have an array of two objects being the actors, will the cutscene have both animate at the same time?

I'm programming on GM:S 1.4 which I think is better than the GM:S 2 version and I'm wondering how can you add the global.ctsAnims = [ ]; inside of it. GM:S 1.4 don't accept the empty array (which global.ctsAnims is equal to...) Any help? (would be appreciated! ^^)

EDIT: I've tried to make the variables equal to " "; but it seems not to work...

in line 6 of script on addAnim crash, it says: "illegal access of argument, argument is not provided to script
at gml_Script_addAnim (line 6) - var _data = argument[3];" :/
