us old schoolers know full well our stroker 125's would smoke any of these current bikes, legislation and restrictions changed the game, they do look cool and perform well enough, but an old 2stroke 125 is where it's really at.had an AR125 a little harder to de-restrict..but was a hoot to ride...now ride a zzr 1400....ride safe folks.

I have the 2021 RS 125 GP Replica and have got 83 mph out of it, great first bike and comes with quick shifter!

Honestly the best decision I ever made was getting the Lexmoto LXR, it’s such a gorgeous bike for a 125. Nothing beats it for me.

You can’t beat 2 stroke my tzr 125 and my cagiva mito will do over 100 mph . Todays 125cc bikes have all the fun taken out of them. That 2 stroke smell ai ai ai. 😀

I have a 125 cc lxr it was to get me back in to bike before my test, I'd say its not fast but for the money definitely worth it if your not having a 125 for long and getting a bigger bike.

The old Aprillia RS 125 2 stroke is what they need to bring back.

I had a Honda CG125 in the 80s that did 72mph & a RS125 in the 90s that did nearly 100, 125s these days are form over function.

I bought my cbr Repsol brand new for my 50th birthday prezzie to myself. I'm 14 stone and I'm telling you on my kids' life, that bike down a slight bank with a bit tailwind would easily hit 84mph ringing it. It would happily cruise all day at 74.
Also as a side note, in 25k miles and the five years I had it, I was never once overtaken by a yzf.

As 125s go, this is absolutely No1 I kid you not.

Back when I was 16 there was the CB92 Honda twin that was 15bhp then , so no way forwards because of regulations.

I had a sinnis terrain and for three months it was fine.
Massive issues with bearings, chain made of knicker elastic.
Customer service was absolutely wank.
Buy a Sinnis at your peril.

Great review but to be hgonest I just jumped straight past all the Chinese models. The Chinese manufactured bikes do put me off big style. I do agree with your number 1 choice the Yamaha YZF is an amazing 125 that said the KTM is also an amazing machine. I decided to go a slightly different route but staying with Yamaha. The XSR125 Legacy was the top choice for me. It has to be one of the most beautiful motorbikes out there and you have the power as well. Cheers.
