The RS might have a lot more WHP than the R32, but the R32 sounds so, SO good - I'd rather spend my travels with that tuned V6 putting a smile on my face and having a slightly slower car, than having to put up with the paarrrrpppp of the RS (not saying I wouldn't like either car mind... just that I prefer the R32). If I wanted to make it go faster, I'd just slap on a decent turbo :)

You don't need an RS to see off one of these. An ST is enough :-)

Sounds like the 32 has a catback minimum, sounded very loud compared to others I've seen about. They may be quick off the line but they aren't particularly fast cars in fact I found them quite an underwhelming car in gear. AWD means they make good progress in any condition and the noise they make is porn though I have to say.

All the comments slating the R32, the R32 is an incredible car. In its defense it looks stylish and subtle and sounds incredible, is fast enough and plenty of fun to throw around. It also has 4 wheel drive on demand when needed. All these Ford fan boys getting stooifs over another RS, they are ten a penny everywhere, yes they are an incredbile car for FWD but they are let down massively by their silly boy racer styling and looks. Also, tuned ones spin their wheels too often in the wet for my liking. The R32 is awesome regardless of the conditions.

I like both but the 5 cylinder ford engine is very prone to exploding and both the block and the head, warp badly, which is a common problem but the VR6 is relatively bombproof.

I took on a mk4 R32 in my ST uphill but I'm pretty sure mines mapped ( like that when I bought it )

Der Focus RS ist eine hochgezüchtete 2, 5l Maschine...der R32 ist quasi "Serie", "Alte Schule".
Auf Basis des R32 gibt es z.B. von HGP Umrüstungen mit weit über 500PS....dann macht dem Wagen niemand mehr was vor.
Der R32 ist beachtlich schnell dank seines Allrads und des grandiosen DSG-Getriebes mit Launch-Control.
Wäre er noch ein paar Kilo leichter (Leergewicht um die 1, 6t) würde er noch flotter voran stürmen.
Der RS ist schnell, aber hat eben zahlreiche Bauteile auf Hochleistung aufgerüstet.
Der Motor im Grunde gibt es ja schon im Focus ST mit 225 PS.
Die Mehrleistung, das hohe Drehmoment und das niedrigere Gewicht haben ihn aufholen lassen.

All of you big deal which one is faster only in German autobahn you can drive an unlimited speed.Is nice to have a nice exhaust sound, nice looking car and who cares much is faster for 2 sec or slower.

As for me, my profile pic gives the game away a bit...but I like the R32 too. Five cylinders do it for me...but I also simply like any fast car
