I have 7 Hobao, more Hobao in my fleet of 25 cars than any other brand. Universal parts. Lots of aluminium. Quality plastics. Strength. Durability. Reasonably priced. Can still buy parts for a 20 year old Hyper7.
Agree they don’t know about marketing.
Yes they used to look pretty bad.
Not a single shell has ever fit properly or been easy to put on.
Almost every engine has air leaks.
Some of the 13 year old Chinese girls who are building these cars don’t care about camber caster or toe.
They leave it for you to figure out.
One day they might sort these issues out and that’s when the other brands who charge more are in trouble.

Would be interested of the weight of the hobao compared to the TLR typhon. Batteries wheels, No body.... ive been milling out the tlr chassis just to bring the weight down 3800 grams.

Such an underrated brand in Australia.

Absolutely love Hobao's, most under rated cars out there. I have 6 different Hobao cars.

That shock problem is a nice easy fix. The ends of the shock stand offs are threaded so you can put a screw and a washer on the end to capture the shock end and hold it in place

I use Arrma SHOCK CAP PROTECTOR 6S AR330492, just use a Dremel to remove the inner plastic part. Then mount them on the front shocks with a screw. I bought spare parts directly from HoBao eshop, but the shipping price has gone some up after Covid. But I break few parts, the car is taking a lot of beating/bashing. Also I buy some spare parts from UK.

I'd been trying for a LONG time to get you to review a Hyper VS Vas, I'm glad, and I'm sure you have gotten around to it...i still have mine, and looking to make it a rocket very shortly

Ouyeah, that was a nice watch! I definitely want me one of these at some point! Bummer with the shocks popping out. I heard about it in other videos, but yours was just way unacceptable! Weird they haven't sent out a retrofit to prevent this from happening, should be simple enough, just change the screw, add a nut... But like you said, smooth...

I heard they're working on another truggy. You better get that one when it comes out

My VSE V1 did that all the time on the front shocks. Just put a screw with a flat washer on them and solved the problem 👍

Awesome... Nice jumping and handling, right?

Yeah a washer will fix that probably. Let’s see that buggy on 6s!

Lots of buggy guys rave about the VS2.. can see why. Sweetheart on 4s.
What about doing a buggy comparison vid using control tyres Vas? I know I'd froth over the idea.

superb buggy from Hobao. I use it for bashing and also race on track.

My favourite brand-got an upgraded SSTE and a brushless ST Pro-the St pro is a truggy that handles like a buggy. Cheers for giving them some publicity, as already stated by someone else, they are badly under rated. When you look at the speed records they are dominated by Arrma, but Hobao are very close behind.

Nice video. I very nearly bought a Hyper VS2 as its build quality is off the scale in comparison to the likes of a Typhon. A few things deterred me though - mainly the poor availability of Hobao spare parts and the not inconsiderable price. So I went for a Radix 6 instead when seeing a nice deal on it.
