The 2023 Dodge Hornet GT Is A Buzz Worthy Turbocharged Compact Driver’s SUV

Its been a nearly decade since #Dodge released an all-new model and for 2023, the #DodgeHornet returns as a small SUV with Italian roots. This #HornetGT serves as the entry-level model and unlike its rivals, the #Hornet comes standard with a potent 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder making nearly 270 HP. It makes this little SUV once of the quickest and best handling options in the segment.

I love the fact you added a simple but needed information, gas tank size and estimated range and fuel type. If possible, are you able to include this information if provided in all your reviews for cars less than 45k? Thanks for your reviews.

Sofyan, I am having an allergic reaction to all the puns. 🤣

Just seems expensive for a entry-level dodge, guess everything is increasing just not our paychecks.. Great review like always.

Any vehicle that makes Sofyan laugh during the 0-60 test is one that goes on my list to consider. Always the best vehicle reviews 💪

Beautiful car. Long term reliability is a huge question mark from a brand with a checkered reliability history and a murky dealer network.Time will tell. I hope the Hornet can overcome this!😊

Great looking car. I do however have to question the reliability. I own a Dodge Charger SXT and so far have had half the coil packs randomly fail, the rear drive shaft fail 3 separate times, and the glue on the interior door panels fail. They are going to have to do a beyond impressive job to convince me that this is worth purchasing.

This may be the first Dodge product I'd be interested in...that I've seen for some time. I won't get it, thought, because of the price...and because my current car works quite well...and is paid off. But hats off to this car.

Yes. Dodge Caliber SRT. I almost bought one back in the day. The reason I didn't was because Dodge did not offer an automatic trans mission. At that time I was with the Teamsters and did not want to be shifting gears on my own time. Lo Entiendes?

reminds me of a sharper looking larger brother to the old Caliber SRT-4. and despite having 17 less HP and weighing 500lbs more the Hornet GT is about as fast to 60

Kudos to the reviewer. He seems to know his car stuff and does the job in a truly professional way.
In the meantime, I drove this car myself and I liked the acceleration, handling, and road feel. However, I decided I couldn't live with it because of a singularly poor ergonomic design.

1. Even though I'm short, when I raise the seat all the way, which is how my body likes it these days, the cabin becomes too cramped, and my knees are hitting the steering wheel assembly.
2. When I try to get out, the seating material acts like velcro on my jeans and impedes my movement. Combined with the raised sides of the driver seat, which trip my butt, the exit out of the vehicle is further made difficult.
3. When I want to get into the driver seat, the roof line is so low and angular that I risk bumping my head hard if I'm not careful getting in.

I have never encountered a vehicle with issues of this kind and so so many of them as the new Dodge Hornet GT.

I have owned many Chrysler products. And as a used car dealer, found them to be reliable as any other makes. As an owner of many I can tell you I drove our little dart for 175k with little but proper maintenance and upkeep. May i add the 30+ miles per gallon was welcome. My truck was totalled at 130k without problems. Believe me, anything made by man will break, even Toyota's and Honda' of course, 7000 cars sold is just a small sample.

Dodge/Alfa .. I'd love one but I'm worried about long term reliability lol.

Very striking vehicle in styling, and that color most certainly helps it to stand out from the crowd.

But loaded versions of this thing can cost more than a Mazda CX5/50 2.5T, RAV4 XSE Hybrid, and the H/K twins. That said, you'll get steeper discounts at Dodge though.

Hilarious at all of the reliability comments. This thing has been on sale for two seconds and everyone has it figured out. Sure, Alfa had issues in the past, but the Giuilia actually has above avg reliability(though they need more dealers), as does the Stelvio. Sure, a RAV4 with a 15 year old engine is going to be more reliable, most assuredly.

I have a problem choking down $40k for an entry level car

Dodge and Alfa Romero are not known for building quality and reliable vehicles. I would definitely recommend going with one of their competitors (Toyota, Honda).

prefer the Hornet's styling to the Tonale's but agree that the Dodge should have added the fog lights. And why in the world would they not have exhaust tips? CRAZY
