So so helpful! A lot of this went over my head, but I love learning and rewatching this as much as I need. Exciting times for VR180 producers!

Nice! Some useful tips for even my CGI content workflows.
I hope someone from Apple is watching and realizes how important you and your educational content are important to their success.

Got my lens today, as a photographer without any experience in video would love to see beginner guide for easier workflows (with less expensive computers) as this camera+lens are much more affordable then previous setups

Hi Hugh, nice to meet you. I really appreciate the amount of information you provide us, it's a pleasure to learn with you.

I bought an EOS R7 with the dual fish eye lens a few weeks ago. I have subscribed to VR Utility and I am reviewing the tutorial for Davinci Resolve. I am not able to export the video file correctly to upload it to YouTube, neither with VR Utility nor with Davinci Resolve. I am testing with the Beta version of the latter, could it be because of the lack of being able to incorporate VR 180 metadata?

It would be very useful for me to be able to solve these problems, I thank you in advance for your great help.

Thank you so much! :) Will it also contain some tipps about best settings for topaz and how to use latest audio tracking features for automatic spatial audio panning?

Thank you! This is INCREDIBLE, and exactly what I need (I think!). I don't see Andrew's new STMap comp for the R5C that you show at 14:50. Splitting the adjustment between the left and right eyes is something I wasn't doing previously, and I expect that to make things better. Many thanks!

Hey Hugh, I am very interested in producing underwater spatial video. Can you make a video on how to use spatial video using a couple of side by side new action cams like the DJI or GoPros ?? is it possible to make pro results that way ?

Hi Hou, did you test the new Canon EOS R5 Mark II already? If yes, is the image quality way better than the old R5?

Have you made a tutorial for using 2 GoPros or 2 Insta360 GO 3S? Sounds like an interesting setup.

Hello Hugh,
Bravo for this very precise tutorial and so satisfying for the creators that we are....
It's a real work and I thank you infinitely for sharing this know-how with us with such kindness.
Concerning this tutorial: I downloaded the rushes of the Canon R7 and R5C to follow the tutorial.
However, I have a small opening problem in DaVinci Resolve 18.6. I only see the sound track while the rush opens perfectly in other software like Première Pro.
Thinking that this could be due to the version of DaVinci, I installed version 19 beta 5 (Free) but that didn't change anything. I only have the audio track visible.
I am on a PC with a machine set up for 8K 360° renderings.
Have you ever encountered this problem? Am I missing a codec or something like that?
Thank you for your always constructive feedback.
Can you give me the link to access your paid training?

Thank you very much
Emmanuel DUMANGE

Curious what a dual DJI Osmo Action 4 setup would produce. I believe that action camera supports up to 155 degrees.

Thanks for the interesting tutorial. I'm considering using Davinci Resolve because I don't like the Adobe Premier subscription cost.
I hope you don't mind me asking, but is it possible to upload V180 videos from the Canon EOS R7 after you have converted them using Canon's EOS VR Utility? I have tried saving them from EOS VR Utility in .mp4 H.264 then uploading but Youtube just gives me a "Processing abandoned - The video could not be processed" error.

Hi, Hugh, I just followed your tut and did a comparison.
Resolution: Da Vinci (free) is 3840x1920, EOS VR is 4096x2048.
Bit Rate: Da Vinci 220 mbps, EOS VR 150 mbps.
Frame rate: Da Vinci 29.97, EOS VR 59.94
I know we can change settings in Da Vinci, so this is just the default settings from the free version.
But the clarity from EOS VR is far better, despite that the EOS resolution is just a little higher. I doubt that changing Da Vinci to paid version would improve the video clarity that much.
Another issue with both workflow is, with my 4080, the rendering is A two minute footage took about 5 minutes to render. Is this normal?
Thanks again for your great help!

Great tut as always, thank you.
@13:19, where is mike swansome's script to inject the VR180 SBS metadata? Thanks.

Hugh, can you use the APS-C RF-S 3.9mm f/3.5 VR lens with autofocus on the full-frame Canon R6 II?
