Been using "Crystal" himalayas salt for over a year and it doesn't even look used -- never had to advance it yet. For me, it should last a decade?
How i use it: I apply the salt while still wet from showering (I'm wet, I don't wet the salt).

The reason it works so well for me is I'm applying the salt barrier directly after showing, before bacteria/sweat grows.

so happy i stumbled upon this video. ive been thinking a lot recently about wanting to switch to a zero waste deodorant but wasnt sure what was available/worth giving a shot. the sustain yourself paste is very intriguing!

Great to see a direct comparison of all these deodorants under the same conditions. Two other methods if you're out of shop bought deodorant. Baking soda with several drops of your usual perfume, dust lightly on damp underarms, or take a washcloth and a small bar of soap with you and every time you go to the bathroom wash and dry your underarms. Also, have you done a video on dishwasher vs hand washing dishes? I'd be interested because you tend to look at all the different factors involved rather than just the obvious ones.

im kinda new to zero waste so I haven’t tried a lot of dtc/online brands, but ive been able to get the native paper tube deodorant from target consistently and I really like it! the eucalyptus mint scent is so nice

Based on that detail alone, I think I’d opt for the crystal bar or the paste that you liked.

A tip for the wild deodorant, you can leave the cardboard casing in the case when refilling :) it doesn't change anything while using but it keeps the inside cleaner on the long term. I tried to compost one and it took only 2 month to disappear in my garden, I was impressed, that's why I keep this brand ^^ they don't lie about their products.

I just started using Wild and it’s definitely my favorite zero waste vegan deodorant so far! I also really like the Meow Meow Tweet one that comes in cardboard.

Can’t beat the frugality of the crystal one, they had it on 2 for 1 so I’m stuck with them forever!

Wild didn’t work for me at all unfortunately but there’s a wild competitor that’s similar called Fussy that I recommend trying if you can get your hands on it in the US, I found it much more effective & the cases don’t scratch up over time.

The crystal works great for me. I still sweat, but I don't stink even though I have a pretty physical job. And it lasts a very long time.

I use Nuud, a cream in a tube of bioplastic. I have so many allergies, including coconut oil and shea butter(still haven't found a hand/body lotion!) that it was hard to find something that would A) work B) not be full of dangerous chemicals C) have an obnoxious scent! It sure doesn't work as well and an antiperspirant, but with the limitations I have it's the best I've found. The main downside is the distance it ships from, so I stock up twice a year.

I tried a crystal deodorant once, and lost it immediately since it was just a crystal in a dish that had to live in a counter. The cork package seems so portable and protective!

*I almost didn't watch this video because Idk why, but I'm glad I did because I have a deodorant crystal from Sprouts, and I didn't read the label so I was applying it wrong, too. Also I didn't know that it could dry out your skin, so thanks for mentioning that. And I didn't know what it actually was - if it was a real crystal or whatever, so now I'll have to be more careful with it so it doesn't shatter. Mine comes in plastic case, though. Don't love that.

i'm not sure if you ever tried it in one of your older videos, but i've been using By Humankind's eco deodorant for 3 years now and i love it!! it's not technically an antiperspirant, but they say it has antiperspirant qualities and i definitely noticed a reduction in sweat production compared to other eco deodorants that i tried before settling on that one! only downfall is that its one of the circular ones:(

I don't know if you've already tried this brand, but try Little Seed Farm. I bought it from a refill store & if I understand it right, you can buy a refill for it. I haven't looked into it as I have several deodorants I gotta use up first.
