My cat mom made me sit beside her when she gave birth. She cleaned every new kitten and showed it to me. Afterwards, she’d leap into my lap and place a baby there for me to pet.

Just a note. I've found that if you're helping at the birth, most mothers will never be aggressive towards you when handing their young.

The sight of mothers protecting their young warms my heart not that it’s always good but to see that a mother cares for its kitten makes me so happy as a cat lover!!

A year ago we take 6 kittens from street. Their mother cannot feed them, and many of them were sick, and she was too. The neighbour took her to the vet, and she got better. Me and my husband took care of kittens, the time we gave them a bath, and they were meowing the mother ran out off her new home and broke in to take one of her child. We took him back (We've taken him back because he needs a treatment - now this is a big and sweet boy who loves my husband so much). That time i realised that cat mothers can do anything to their babies.

(Why did we separate the mother and kittens? We have a grown up cat, and we can't reveal that stress of communicating with another grown up cat. So we took babies. And the neighbour can't take them, but she can take their mom.

Now the mom is happy with the neighbour. All of six kitten had found a new home - one is with us (our cat though that he is her child). All cats are safe and sound.

I never had cats until a couple years ago and I'm still really surprised by how often they use their paws like hands.

If they had thumbs, they'd basically be monkies.
