Don't become a prepper out of fear, plan to provide the things you and your family need no matter what the future holds. Pandemic, civil unrest, food shortages, job losses, economic downturn, natural disaster like hurricanes, tornadoes, forest fires, floods, drought. Stockpile food and supplies now while food is available. Price hikes are beginning, shortages are happening.

Staff on strike. Drivers on strike. Cargo ships stuck outside of the ports. Everything seems to be aligning well for the perfect storm.

Most cellophane bags of cereals fill a 1/2 gallon glass canning jar then I vacuum seal the jars to keep fresh an extra year or two.

Awesome prepping haul. Better have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Hi AG! Well, our power went out earlier and of course, I was wondering if our grid was down. It was only out about an hour but I got out a few solar lights to charge them up, made sure my battery operated fans were handy, put my solar power bank for phones out in the sun and filled a couple of extra water jugs. I have gas for my generators and a backup solar generator. Thankful my laundry and dishes were done. I was trying to think of what else I would need and I have to I'm not gloating....just thankful I've had the time and resources to put together the things I have for bad times. But that was just an hour, a long term grid down situation would surely be different, but for now, I'm feeling pretty good. God bless AG. Thank you. ~~Laura An additional side note is, if possible, put a window air conditioning unit in your preps. A generator wouldn't run my whole house, but at least I could keep one room comfortable.

Great video and I’m glad they were stocked but 3.99 a can for corn beef hash. Ouch. I love corn beef hash. Keep spreading the word that it is not too late to start preparing.

Grab barley if you can. There were 3 boxes at my Kroger and I picked up 2 of them. the Barley crop in the PAC NW has failed due to the drought.

I went to Winco, about 6 weeks ago, I went yesterday, and stocked up a bit more, I like their Alfredo sauce in the packets they are .45 cents they have a good buy date of 4/21/23. So 6 weeks later, they had the sauce packets, still with the 4/21/23, before they would be a later date, but they didn't have any newer packages. To help my sauce, I add 1/2 package of cream cheese, to give it a tangy taste, along with 4 tsp butter, with the sauce, and 1 1/2 cups of milk to stretch it out.

You're right, I've been noticing how the dates on cans have been difficult to read lately too. Some are even on the pull tabs of canned goods.

Alaskagranny is a great prepper. She thinks of everything. The one thing I feel is missing is preparing for our eternal life. This is so important. Will today be the day that you prepare for your eternal destiny? Many have heard the story of Jesus before. Sometimes we put it off. Much like emergency preparedness we know it's coming but not sure when. Don't be unprepared. It will be the easiest prep you have ever done. 3 simple steps. 1. Ask for forgiveness of your sins. 2. Ask Jesus Christ into your heart. 3. Make him your Lord and Savior. If you do this. Your are truly a master planner. God bless.

I can still buy baking powder at our Dollar General for $1.25, in Florida panhandle.

To me, Treet is much more like bologna. I like it because it isn't as salty as Spam. I like it fried for a sandwich!

I always remind my family that preparedness is a lifestyle, not a survival style. Having what you and they need, when it is needed, allows us to have and enjoy life.

Protein, fat, starch and sugar are the basic building blocks, in as many varieties as possible. Flavorings to stave off boredom are important. I have lived on cornmeal mush and Slim Jims for two weeks while hiking, but my morale was pretty low at the end. You always cover a wide variety of foods, adjuncts and supplements. Thank you so much for sharing ideas and encouragement in these turbulent times. Be well and at peace.
