Fighting Pediatric Cancer: Lauren's Story

It's been a rough journey so far for Lauren. She was diagnosed with an Medulloblastoma tumor on her brain stem. Shortly after that diagnosis, she was brought in for brain surgery. Her mom is thankful to be in the great hands of the neurologists at Nationwide Children's Hospital. "I was one of those people who always said things to other parents like, 'Oh, that's horrible...I'm so sorry...I wish I could do more for you.' But when it hits your own child, it sets you in a whole different perspective.” Lauren's hopes are similar to other girls her age: she hopes to be able to hang out and dance with her friends, go to school, and, oh yes, bring home a new puppy.

for anyone who is curious, lauren is doing much better ! she’s happily in highschool and basically a normal kid with great friends. i’m happy to say i’m one of her best friends and her progress is incredible ! love you L
