Brielle (2024) is a fortified city in the province of South Holland, the Netherlands. Brielle is located in the metropolitan area of Rotterdam. The city played an important role in the liberation of the Netherlands during the Spanish occupation. Nowadays the city has a population of approximately 20,000. Some highlights of the city are the Saint Catherine Church, the fortification of the town, the harbour and the old center with the canals.
