Just got the Verizon version of the G6 Play for $129. The E5 Play is pricey at $94 at Best Buy. I hope Walmart sells this, for the same $39.95 that they sold the E4 for. Other than the larger screen and fingerprint scanner on the back instead of the front, there's really not much difference between the E5 Play and the E4. Moto has said neither one will be be getting an operating system upgrade ...just security patches.

Recently, I purchased the Motorola Moto E5 Play (Verizon Prepaid). It is a decent device. However, there is not much of a difference from the Moto E4. Other than the Operating System (and some of the Operating System's Features), the Moto E5 Play is an exact duplicate of the Moto E4. To be perfectly honest, I wish that I had purchased the Moto E4 instead of the Moto E5 Play. In the past, I have owned both the Boost Mobile Version and Virgin Mobile Version of the Moto E4. I loved that device. I even liked it more than the Moto E4 Plus. Now that I am with Verizon Prepaid, I need to decide what to do. Last week, I received (in the mail) a Moto E4 Plus. In the past, I owned the Moto E4 Plus (Boost Mobile Version). I am going to end up using two cell phones. I always do that. Now, I just need to decide if I will keep the E5 Play or switch it to the E4.

I'm liking mine so far, I added a 32gb SD card and I got it from Walmart for $63 after taxes. It's been a reliable and solid device and even does better than my Moto z2 play did before it broke

i have the exact same phone but from consumer cellular and was wondering why mine didn't have the fingerprint sensor and yours did, i bout mine in summer of 2018 and it didn't have one built in.

When u insert a memory card for the first time, can the sd card be set as internal or not?

I mean, this phone is around $150 bucks. It's cheap, it's decent, it works. This phone has made me a big fan of Moto. I'm looking at their Z3 play now.

I am on a family Verizon plan. Will this be compatible? My LG Stylo is damaged from water. Someone is selling a brand new Moto E5 Play on Facebook Marketplace for $50.

5.87 used out of 16gb seems very light. I have the Moto E4 and it tells me I'm using 9.46gb - System 5.97gb, Apps 2.47gb, Cached Data 2.27mb. Mind you, for apps, the only 3rd party apps (apps I installed myself) are Edge (175mb), VLC (58.29gb), FX (23mb), Firefox Focus (12.91mb), Lithium e-reader (10mb), plus relatively light bloatware from Verizon). SO, after you've had this for a while, with updates, what does the stock ROM usage look like? Available space for our apps? I hate the EU, but Google crams in its own apps as though phones started with 32gb instead of 16gb. And we can't uninstall them. They should be there as stubs until we us them, or run as temporary apps. Google doesn't leave much space for "the competition".

Does anyone know what kind of usb connector this phone uses ?they say its micro usb but all the micro usb cables i got are too long and look slightly different

Has anyone been able to run apps from the sd card by turning on "force allow apps on external" (in Developer Options). I've only read about it. Never used it. You can turn on this option on Moto phones.
A commenter said it's supposed to allow you to run apps from external storage without having to set up the sd card as external storage.

nice review can you move the google search bar up, I really dont like them that low, I notice a lot of the phones they are low you also cant put a wallpaper either with that in the middle
