I love working with Drops Air and wearing it, but in my experience it pills a lot, and this way pulls the fibers out of the tube so the yarn will get really thin in high friction areas like under the arms etc. Also in my case the tube is white (the yarn is teal) and it will show once the fibers start to get pulled out in those areas. So for accessories definitely YES, for clothes that I wear a lot, maybe not so great.

I like Drops Air - very soft and great price. Since it's a naturally drape-y yarn due to the alpaca content, I hold it with silk mohair to give it more structure especially for sweaters and cardigans. Since alpaca is a soft/fluffy yarn, that also means it's more prone to pilling and the mohair helps. You could use other lace weight yarns if mohair is not your thing.

I made a Ranunculus with Drops Air and I love it and it's held up well. But I agree, maybe not the best choice for some garments. I plan to make hats with my leftover yarn.

I love Drops Air! Hold it with their Drops Alpaca Silk or any mohair. That keeps it from piling!

Yes, Air is very uneven. I've used several colors and all had this issue. For some skeins difference between thick and thin parts is not huge, but I have had skeins where some parts are twice thicker that normal and other parts have polyester shell with almost no wool inside. And it is quite fragile. It did brake, when I used Italian bind-off technique.

Hey, I was wondering how many skeins you used to make a sweater (or how much it weights)? It’s just really unusual yarn weight/length/needles size ratio so I’m kinda lost for how many I have to buy 😅

Hi, did you also use silk mohair with drop air for the hat? Also do you need to buy the book to find this pattern? I don’t seem to find it .😊

I have washed my sweater in the laundry mashine without any problems and just leave it to dry flat. As some others I have an issue with the peeling, so I would not work with it again for sweaters, but i would probably try it for accessories too.

I also noticed that irregularity and needed to cut many parts of several skeins. I used green 12.
I complained about it, and you should have complained too, in my opinion.
