Trump announces extensive coronavirus travel ban

In a dramatic move to stop the spread of the coronavirus, President Trump ordered an extensive travel ban on Europe during a Wednesday night Oval Office address. The speech sent stock futures plummeting and angered Democratic leaders who criticized Mr. Trump for failing to address the shortage of test kits. This travel ban should be for everywhere not just Europe and should include UK. We could contain this if everyone was ordered to home quarantine for 30 days except for select people that keep things running like doctors, nurses, farmers, utility workers, etc which would be kept isolated from other people while doing their work. During this 30 day home quarantine all bills would be frozen. Food would be allocated at the beginning of the quarantine. In 30 days we would find out who became symptomatic and then they could be hospitalized in specialized hospitals that only deal with COVID19.

Okay so I'm just asking this based on what I know about the coronavirus... why dont we just put the US on lockdown for a month? Or at least a few weeks... just keep imports and exports coming and going. No people going on flights, cruises, etc.

Trump and Pence should immediately be quarantined, since they both were in close contact with the Brazilian Presidents press secretary a few days ago who has tested positive. Pence was all over the TV stations this morning, potentially infecting many people. If Trump knew this last night why did he allow this ? VERY VERY IRRESPONSIBLE .
