It is truly a tribute to the roots of the french electronic music & electroacoustic music which had a major influence on my early studies at the GRM and really how we are producing music today. The soul of the album is also a tribute to Pierre Henry, who was one of the foundational 20th century giants of electronic music: he explored solfeggio notes v’s noise bites in audio spatialization before it was thought of. Pierre Henry inspired me to create an album using the old analog techniques I studied, but linked to the future by using spatial audio technique already and foremost at the composition stage.
OXYMORE is probably the first album of this inception, where the entire creative process was build around immersive sound arrangement and production.
I am really convinced that the Multi-Channel and Binaural sound formats are the future of music and new creativity, production & emotional experiences.
Thank you for listening to OXYMORE.

I love it. If his music was to just keep updating former songs or being similar to older songs I would have given him away years ago. Keeep coming up with new and unique stuff, Jean, I haven't got an album of yours that I don't particularly like. I'm 78 and they all get my feet and body moving.

OXYMORE was even better than I expected it to be. Yes, totally different from the Oxygene/Equinoxe analog ambient soundscapes, but it's no longer 1976, it's 2022.
I've listened to hundreds of electronic albums and I'm here saying that this might be the most detailed, most layered sound-design I've ever heard in my life. I need at least 8-10 listens on each track to catch every little detail. I simply cannot understand how a 74 year-old legend who already had all the success in his life can still surprise us and do something bold and new.

And I also love the style of the music: it's not trying to sound like the old "classic" albums, but it's also not some sommercial dance music, on the contrary, it's very experimantal, very abstract with some dark techno infuence. This is like a more modern version of Zoolook, but instead of sounding tribal and jazzy, it's more dark, mechanical and chaotic in a good way. Since Zoolook is my favourite JMJ album, I have to say: this is my favourite JMJ album since Metamorphoses.
My list of the top JMJ albums would probably be: 1. Zoolook, 2. Equinoxe, 3. Metamorphoses, 4. Oxygene, 5. Revolutions, 6. Oxymore.

This is his best stuff since 7-13 IMHO. Blending the maturity of his experience with innovative sounds and mix. Dark and dystopian. Love it.

When I first listened to your music, it did magic on my brain. When I'm feeling down I listen to your music and the effect is inmediate: I feel much better. This track is EPIC! As a person with hyperacusia, every detail is inspiring, it's a whole new world, where problems exist no more. There's no bad album, from the first to now, you keep amazing us! I still wonder why my generation doesn't know your music properly (I'm 26), but hey, your music taught me to not to give it all up, the present, the future is amazing! Thank you

I really love it !!! I am so happy that Mr Jarre is keeping the flame burning by continuously reinvent himself, relentlessly creating, curiously searching, charting new territories, burning limits and barriers and still being so relevant in the modern contemporary music. I was so pleased by "Amazonia", I think "Oxymore" is the next big milestone in JMJarre's music.

The Album ist pure Genius. Even (just) in Stereo. Fresh, unique. I enjoyed it so much. Like it takes you to some surreal inner spaces. It also has some extra funkyness in a few tracks.

Was great to read that the parent album, Oxymore, reached No.1 on the UK dance chart. This track is my favorite, and I love the way it hangs together as modern dance music and also noticably his own style with some of the classic recognizable tones he’s developed over the years. Not AT ALL bad for a septuagenarian, eh? One who still insists on looking forward rather than becoming a grumpy old git hating anything modern. Well done, sir.
